Hotwire Hotel: 4* Philadelphia (Center City East) Sofitel

Here I am again- with a need that has requirements, so I realize Priceline and Hotwire may not work for me...

We are going to Philly for three nights at the end of April to see Bruce Springsteen (34 year fan- first time seeing him in Philly!) and want to find a hotel that is not going to break the bank.

However, we would also love to be near to the Spectrum (unless that is a really bad part of town). We have never been to Philly and know nothing about the layout. There will be nasically little or no time for sight seeing-it will be fly in-see the Boss-fly out.

Basically- if we could find a fabulous four star priced really well and not as close we would rent a car. However, if we can get a hotel within a mile, we could pay more and not rent a car.

So ... we need a lot of advice!

Our nights are chieck in late night 4/27 and check out 4/30.

the only decent hotel within walking distance to the Wachovia Center is the Holiday Inn, which will likely not be available on PRICELINE or HOTWIRE because this hotel won't have a problem filling rooms at prevailing rates. After the concert is over, there is nothing to do in this area without a car except making a visit to the Citizens Bank Park and home of the World Champion Phillies :)

Your best bet is to stay in center city and take the Broad Street Subway down to the Wachovia Center, you will have lots of company on the subway.

Yay- there's a subway! Knowing that changes everything as we could still not rent a car. OK then- I would like to go for center city instead- so would love some advice for either Priceline or Hotwire. Our budget is up to $200 a night but we would love to spend a lot less.

After a show it is wonderful to be on a subway with the blissed out fans....

this may be a case to consider HOTWIRE because the Center City East zone is small and sort of "straddles" Broad Street to minimize walking distance to the Subway. PRICELINE's Downtown zone is kind of large and almost goes "from river to river", that is, from the Delaware to the Schuykill rivers.

It appears that the Sofitel is available for your dates for $164 per night, and with a tripadvisor rating of 4.5* our of 5, it looks pretty good. If you want to consider HOTWIRE, please post the star rating and amenities for the listing and we will try and confirm.

Congratulations on your success!

Nice to see you received the hotel you were hoping for and are happy with the results... we're glad the board was helpful with your purchase.

Unfortunately purchases thru the hotel checker often don't track properly so we likely didn't receive any credit for your sale, please remember to use the direct links on the board to begin your future PRICELINE and HOTWIRE purchases.

Enjoy your stay.
