Colfax Posted February 5, 2009 Report Posted February 5, 2009 I'd been at the Park Plaza four nights at $35 and I wanted one night more. I tried Add a Night and got a counteroffer for $45.I know Priceline usually accepts less than their counteroffer. And I noticed another bidder, joseph83, recently won the same night at the Park Plaza for $38.I bid conventionally then, starting at $35, although I knew I might win some other hotel and have to move. I inched up in one dollar increments and didn't hit until $40---two bucks more than joseph83 paid.Park Plaza's best rate on 2/2 was $118.15; a little more than the rate for the nights I'd won at $35.Park Plaza has a good sized, well heated indoor pool and a hot jacuzzi, both open til 11pm, and both much appreciated with outdoor temps in single digits to teens for most of my five-night stay.
