Talking to the hotel directly; The hotel offered to give me a room for $129 on these dates ( rates for mon - wed is $199) but i declined; knowing i could stay elsewhere for less but that was exremely nice of the hotel since they are not used to negotiating rates directly with customers nor do they like to. This was done as a courtesy because of my situation. THe Residence Inn in shelton offer $139/night corporate rate for 30 days or more and$99/night for military discount on there site. ( you can use these rates for Marriott points if you needed to) at this time i would like to use priceline to get my hotel rooms at a discounted rate which It seems NO ONE ELSE can even come close!!I used your PRICELINE link so you get credit for my stay. thereuare Posted January 31, 2009 Report Posted January 31, 2009 With all the bidding you're doing it's a good thing these properties have free internet :)Looks like you'll be returning to this property... hopefully you enjoyed your time there a few weeks prior.Since you're willing to stay in Shelton it's OK to include in your bidding, but with the soft economny these 'business hotels' could see a midweek slowdown at any time (at which point they may make rooms available to PRICELINE and HOTWIRE), so if somebody doesn't want to stay in this zone then i wouldn't recommend bidding it (unless your absoluately out of time and have no other options)Thanks for sharing your latest win with the board and using our PRICELINE link for your bidding.Enjoy your stay. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
relaxing41 Posted January 31, 2009 Author Report Posted January 31, 2009 Yes , i am glad you made that point very clear because I am willing to stay in shelton so it doesn't bother me. I really like this hotel for the weekend because the pool is inside the same building as the hotel (as opposed to the milford Residence INN which you need to walk across the street to the Marriott sprinhill suites and use their pool and jacuzzi ). Plus the beds are EXTREMELY comfortable. ALso they treated me very well last time I was there and hope to get the same great treatment and excellent room as last time. For sure, the free internet connection at this hotel is also a plus. Not only is it free but the last time I was there I came straight from my destroyed home so I had no computer and they have a computer that you can use any time of the day/night with excellent connections. Even when the kids were on the computer the staff asked nicely for them to give the computer to the adults that needed it and they were kind enough to do so. Also they have more than one computer which is always nice. The front desk will print up your boarding passes for free if needed (if flying)Another great thing is their breakfast. While the cost is $10 per person even if you have to pay it it is worth it. It includes fresh fruit and better coffee than the free coffee they leave out 24/7. ALso omlettes to order! typing this is making me hungry!!I am trying to make the best of my situation. Generally, i love staying at hotels just to get away from my house for a few days and enjoy the maid service and the relaxing atmosphere. It is a great way for me to stay put and do my paperwork and then hang out at the pool and read a book afterward. I just want to kick myself when I remember not to long ago paying either full prices or 50 percent off the rack rates (which I thought was a great deal at the time!) for hotel stays that priceline has consistenly has been able to give me at such a deeper discount. Thanks to your site your educating the masses and helping people save money at the same time. I now shake my head when I overhear the nightly rate that some people are paying to stay at the same hotel as I am. But then I realize it is those customers who pay the full price that allow people like us to stay here for less. so I am not complaining!!relaxing41
