relaxing41 Posted January 27, 2009 Report Posted January 27, 2009 Using your links i went to priceline and bid as follows:i STARTED out several days ago with prices of 28 dollars up to 36 re didchanged dates added an extra day each time i got rejected. I just wanted to stay ANYWHERE in shelton and knowing there are no one star properties in Shelton I used the one star as a free rebid. I increased my bid from 38 ; added a day 39, added a day 40 added a day 41 subtracted first dater then 42 when rejected i went straight to 44 and lowered to one star. then got it. I wanted anything in shelton but i then drove to the hotel to check it out and found out there is no pool; no breakfast and no on sight work out room; the room is smaller than the room at the residence in with the same amount of furniture; knowing this I was willing to stay if i got the larger room. BUt i did not want to pay 20 more; i figured if i bid up to 64dollars i could stay at a better hotel so i got my refund as stated below.Congratulations, we
thereuare Posted January 27, 2009 Report Posted January 27, 2009 Thank you for sharing your results with the board and using our PRICELINE link to begin your bidding. To clarify, it is not PRICELINE's policy to cancel a reservation if the room only has one bed and you need two beds... i think you got very lucky to have PRICELINE cancel this reservation for you and allow you to re-book.Standard rooms at Homestead Suites properties only have one bed, and rooms with two beds cost extra even when booking thru their own website, so it's natural that they would be looking for an additional fee to allow PRICELINE customers to switch to the upgraded (two bedded) rooms.Glad you sorted it out and came to an agreement with PRICELINE.PS- please dont' type in ALL CAPS as it makes your post harder to read. Thanks. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
