It's not my first language!I'm looking for the Hilton Golden Gateway in SFO from the 3. to the 5th May 2009.I can't identify the Hotel with help of the maps in this Forum. Is it out of the map area? Location is Van Ness/ California Street.I want to "use name your own price" by priceline.I need this Hotel, it's the pickup Hotel of ElMonte.Any ideas?eausmuc
Colfax Posted January 25, 2009 Report Posted January 25, 2009 The hotel at Van Ness and California is the Holiday Inn Golden Gateway, not a Hilton. Is the Holiday Inn the hotel you're trying to get?
eausmuc Posted January 28, 2009 Author Report Posted January 28, 2009 Yes of course, ist's a H I. My mistake, sorry.
Colfax Posted January 28, 2009 Report Posted January 28, 2009 You can't bid for one particular hotel on PRICELINE. You could get win any 3* hotel in the Civic Center zone. Since Priceline downgraded the Cathedral Hill Hotel from 3* to 2* the Holiday Inn Golden Gateway seems to be the only 3* hotel in the zone. There's some small potential that a different 3* hotel could come up though, or that one of the hotels currently rated 2.5* could be upgraded to 3*.The Holiday Inn Golden Gateway sometimes appears on HOTWIRE as a 3* in the Japantown-Civic Center North zone. (Hotwire uses different zone names than Priceline.) But for your dates the 3* on Hotwire is NOT the Holiday Inn. Hotwire's offering has a "Contiinental Breakfast" icon, and the Holiday Inn doesn't have Continental Breakfast. So what should you do? Your options are:1) Book the Holiday Inn conventionally. Their current best rate is $156.40 for your dates.2) Keep checking HOTWIRE once a week or so to see if a different 3* hotel is offered in Japantown-Civic Center, a hotel that doesn't include "Continental Breakfast" icon. When you see a different 3* hotel on HOTWIRE post the icons here and someone will try and tell you if it's the Holiday Inn or not.3) Bid on PRICELINE, if you're willing to accept the small risk of winning some other 3* than the Holiday Inn. If you decide to do that someone can offer a specific bidding strategy. Please use these HOTWIRE and PRICELINE links for your purchases.
