Hi Tito, sorry you didn't get the hotel you wanted. Could you post the other details of your bid - that is, the price you bid, the star level, and the dates of your stay?

Your Priceline bid page should tell you the name of the zone in the same part as the hotel name, halfway down the page. Could you take a look at it again?

Sorry you didn't receive a hotel in the zone you select.

To reiterate WillTravel's comments above, and to best answer your question as far as how to proceed, please let us know... what star level were you bidding and was this the only zone you selected for this bid? Was this your first bid? What zone does it show on the PRICELINE winning bid confirmation screen?

In addition to the above, please let us know the amount of your winning bid and the date(s) of your stay.

Thanks for using our PRICELINE link to begin your purchase.

Initially I only selected 4* in the Downtown-Harbor Island zone. When I got down to three stars, I looked for zones for free bids. I did check a few ones and then, double checked, that I unchecked the boxes. So I only bid on zone 1, D-HI.

1/19 45 Rejcted

1/19 48 R

1/19 50 R

1/20 Added 3 1/2 * at 50 R

1/20 Added 3* at 50 R

1/20 55 Accepted but in Zone 15 Sorrento Mesa (Woodfin Hotel San Diego)

After I got the email with the acceptance of the bid, I tracked back my bidding process until I reached the window of the zone selection and there it was: only zone 1, Downtown-Harbor Island.

I spent one hour talking to CSR from PL and they all just read their policies about no changes of reservation, no cancelations. I wrote a very long email explaining the circumstances today and I'm waiting for a reply.

The good news? I was able t reach a CSR very quickly both yesterday and today but with no resolution. I sent an email and it was answered uickly too, redirecting me to CS.

I thought I followed your advice more than carefully but it was not enough. Priceline is like quicksand for money. One wrong click and the money is gone.

Thanks for listening.

Ask for a supervisor and see if they will let you bid again for the area you want and then credit you back after you win something else.

There are two different routes to take depending upon the answer to the following, can you please clarify:

What zone does it show on the PRICELINE winning bid confirmation screen?

I know this hotel is in Sorrento Mesa, but is that the zone on your winning PRICELINE confirmation screen?

Also...

1/20 Added 3 1/2 * at 50 R

1/20 Added 3* at 50 R

1/20 55 Accepted but in Zone 15 Sorrento Mesa (Woodfin Hotel San Diego)

When you increased your bid to $55 did you add a zone... you would have had to or else your bid would have been rejected as a duplicate since it was identical (other than price) to the previously rejected $50 bid.
In addition to the above, please let us know the amount of your winning bid and the date(s) of your stay.
Please include the dates of your stay in your next reply so your 'win' can appear in the Priceline and Hotwire Calendar of Wins... while you may not have wanted this zone, there may be another user on the board who does and this information can help them.

Yes I added zone 3* and then I got the winning bid for $55

Please use the zone names to avoid any confusion.

Currently at PRICELINE Zone 3 is the Downtown-Harbor Island zone which, accordingly to your bid history, you were bidding from the beginning.

1/20 Added 3 1/2 * at 50 R

1/20 Added 3* at 50 R

1/20 55 Accepted but in Zone 15 Sorrento Mesa (Woodfin Hotel San Diego)

You were able to make the second bid since you lowered your star rating from 3.5* to 3*.

What did you change in order to make your third bid? You needed to change something (add a zone or lower your star rating) in order to make that bid or it would have been rejected as a duplicate of your previous bid (the 3* at $50).

I'm going to speculate that you mistakenly checked the Sorrento Mesa zone in order to be able to bid again. If you don't believe this is the case, then contact PRICELINE and let them know that you received a hotel in the Sorrento Mesa zone but never selected this area. They will then either send you a screenshot of the zone checkmarked or agree to cancel the reservation.

Good luck, let us know how it goes.
