Hey there!

I'm planning a trip on these dates, actually my plane ticket is from 01/28 - 02-01, but I'm thinking on expanding my stay if I can find a good deal on a good hotel.... what prices do you think I can get for these dates in the city for a good hotel (3.5* and up)? I don't have any hotel reservation so far...

So far it's just me in the room, a friend might be joining for the weekend. I dont care about the area the hotel is in as long as it is a clean, nice hotel, I usually don't like massive chain hotels though..... and I'm looking for a max. rate of $180 per nite...

Any help will be very much appreciated!!

Thx!! :)

Welcome to the site.

Is $180 a night for 1/28-2/1 only? What is the level where you would feel comfortable expanding the trip? Getting under your max is really going to be no problem whatsoever for these dates.

Nop, $180 for 1/25 - 02/02, that's how much I can extend my stay....... You think I can get a good deal?? Let's hope!!! The cheaper the better :) Specially with the dollar being as high as it is... (I'm from Mexico).

HOTWIRE has a 3.5* and a 4* for these dates (both are unfortunately unidentified) in the Empire State Building area for $119 and $143, respectively, as well as a 4* in the Times Square area for $139.

The 4* Times Square (which has the amenities boutique, internet, restaurant, fitness) is likely the Hotel Mela. There's also a 4* in the Midtown Central area with the amenities Restaurant, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet (likely either the Algonquin or the Sheraton NY)

There's also a 4* in the Midtown East area for $122 with the amenities: Restaurant, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Tennis that's likely either the Grand Hyatt or Intercontinental Barclay.

On Orbitz, the Roger Williams Hotel is $144 (40% off sale). Use coupon code 20HOTEL for an additional 20% off - a total of 60% off full price.

Also on Orbitz (and the 20HOTEL can be used for these, as well) : Tudor Hotel ($119), Affinia 50 ($151),

All of these fall under (or, in come cases, significantly under) $180 per night - are any of these of interest?

The Roger Williams sounds good...... Do you recomend any of these particularly?? If so pls let me know, I used to live in NYC and visited several times and I have had very bad surprises hotel wise so...

Think I could get something like Royalton, Palace, Rivington or someting like that for my budget?? If not, pls let me know your recomendations of the ones you found!! Thanx a lot!!! :)

Unfortunately, I don't think those three are attainable for these dates. However, I'd rather take the Affinia 50 for $151 - 20% off using the 20HOTEL coupon on Orbitz.com than the Royalton.

The Royalton sometimes shows up on HOTWIRE, but is not for these dates. The Palace and the Rivington have not been reported as wins on either PRICELINE or HOTWIRE.

The Affinia 50 is one of the top 10 rated hotels (#7) in NYC on tripadvisor.com.

Out of the HOTWIRE possibilities, I like the 4* MTE Restaurant, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Tennis that's either the Grand Hyatt or Intercontinental most.

So, if I had to narrow it down, I'd narrow it down to the Affinia 50 for $151 - 20% using the 20HOTEL coupon ($151-20% = about $120.80) or the HOTWIRE listing for $122.

Keep in mind you have to use the 20HOTEL coupon code on Orbitz by 1/18.

*ADDITIONALLY: You could break this trip up into two parts:

Orbitz.com: Affinia 50 - $139.87 from 1/29-2/2 - 20% 20HOTEL coupon = about $112 a night

HOTWIRE.com MTE 4* Restaurant, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Tennis $125 a night from 1/25-1/29

This way you could sample two different properties, and both hotels would be close to one another. Additionally, the Affinia's cheaper 1/29-2/2 than 1/25-2/2.

Please use the site's Orbitz.com or HOTWIRE.com links to start your purchase.

My choice would be the Affinia 50 deal thru Orbitz... one of the best hotels in the city (reviews) and at a rate we don't see very often.

Please use our Orbitz link to begin your purchase (or our PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links if you go that route)

Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help.

Hey there!

Hope everything's good!! I have a quick question, do you happen to know any of the "Top Secret Hotels" listed on otel.com?? If so, could you help me id a 4 star and a couple of 3 stars? Thx a lot!

Posted

There are no descriptions for the "Top Secret Hotels" so there wouldn't anyway to identify them. (or even take a guess)

There are plenty of 4* hotels offered on HOTWIRE within your budget... and you if you don't care as to which hotel you receive you can probably even do a little better on PRICELINE.

What is it exactly that you're looking for from this stay?

Holiday Inn Midtown 57th St.

I stayed here a few years ago and it was fine, rooms are on the small-ish size, but I think you made an excellent deal for a decent property with a great location in Midtown.
