Priceline Hotel: 3* Detroit Suburbs (Troy-Madison Heights) Embassy Suites

I started by selecting Troy-Madison Heights, 3.5-stars, for $34; didn't win.

Then I added 3-stars, kept it at $34; didn't win.

Then I added Bloomfield Hills, upped it to $36; didn't win.

Then I added Sterling Heights-Utica, upped it to $42, and won. With taxes and Priceline fees of $12.11, my total price came to $54.11.

One thing I was confused about is whether this is a 3-star or 3.5-star property; I didn't see any indication on my Priceline receipt about the star level of this hotel. Apparently Embassy Suites can be either 3-star or 3.5-star?

Nice bidding!!! Thanks for sharing your process. I stay in Detroit suburbs often and like to try new places. I'll use your lead and try for Embassy next stay. (they use to serve warm cookies at check in and had a managers reception in the evenings,, not sure if that is still the practice or not, but was a nice touch)
