First bid of 49 rejected; added Milford and upped to 50 and was accepted. I knew there was a chance of getting this hotel but since the rates are 179/night i

wasn't expecting it and truly expected to get the Shelton area hotel. I wished i just bid a lower star level instead; i will know better next time but i am truly happy with the win anyway. This hotel is larger than usual and has a sitting area away from your bedding area. the negative is no in hotel pool; only an outdoor one which since it is winter is not good but i have already asked and they are willing to let me use the facilities at the courtyard marriott or the marriot in stratford if i wish. so i am pleased with that.

check in date is wed 1/14 - thurs 1/15 2009; I did use the better bidding PRICELINE link to get this. I got this price the day before my stay.

I tried to use the link for adding an additional night on one of my old wins to stay at the Hilton Garden Inn in shelton for 47.00 but priceline sent me a generic

statment stating that the feature of adding additional nights are only good for 120 days after your original purchase. I am glad to know this as i was under the impression that you had to use it during your stay only. Since it was 3/14/2008 when i got that win and it was past 120 days; i rebid ; i didn't get the Garden inn but if i checked the site before i went to priceline i would have known they were booked solid with no vacancies for this date. Another reason i was glad to get the Resident Marriot for only 50 dollars. Total with fees is 63.80

Congratulations, your price of $50 was accepted by Residence Inn Milford.

I am so happy with this hotel.

I arrived early and asked if i could check in at 1 pm and It was fine; they already had my keys made at the desk and my room picked out.

The hotel is fairly new with a full kitchen and seperate area to work with a large desk and wired internet access/ wireless available at the

front area of hotel.

It included breakfast and a 630pm -830 snack/drinks get together from mon - thurs.

I cant believe i only paid 50. The rack rate is $250

I was thinking since it was a Residence Inn it would have more families staying there long term. It is geared for the professional business person out of town for the day or week or month or year. If you could afford it.

While they didn't mention priceline she couldnt find my name so I mentioned it but that wasnt the problem but i wonder do they know what we pay for our rooms or what?

They have a meeting room and there was a business there in the meeting room until 9 pm. You knew when it was no longer work time because everyone started coming in the hotel at the same time!.

The fitnes room is small but you can use the ammenites at the Marriot springhill all suite hotel right next door. Including there indoor pool and larger fitness area just ask for a coupon at the front desk

Parking is free and they provide a parking permit so you wont be hassled about your car.

The bed was king and it was extremely comfortaable. I felt like i was home/ but better because of maid service. the couch pulls out to a bed for

exttra sleping quarters. there is also a chair and a tv in the middle of the room which can be swiveled to watch from either bed or couch. There is no tub but the shower is beautiful with beautiful stone. The only thing i didn't like was the sink not being in the bathroom itself but was in the hallway

that leads to the bed. The in room safe is not there and so if you need one you have to ask the front desk and they will provide you with one.

This was an outstanding bargain and i am so glad i did stay here as it is even better than the room i was hoping to get at the Hilton garden inn in shelton.

I will sure stay here again.

When i was bidding i knew if i added (milford area ) to my shelton area at the 3 star level that this was the only hotel (i believe) in this area so that it could only be this hotel and i was right. or lucky.

There was one guy who came out of his room every time i walked down the hall which could freak someone out but i believe he works and lives at this hotel and was just curios to meet all the guest. He was harmless but still I prefer not being watched as i enter and exit the elevators.
