texashighway Posted January 11, 2009 Report Posted January 11, 2009 I tried to undercut the previous poster by bidding at $38 and then $39 before winning at $40. It looks like your first try was right on the money, Randi66! On the hotel's website, I see the lowest price is $104. My only concern is a disclaimer indicating they are undergoing major renovation and to expect "loud noise, scaffolding, dust, etc. 9am
AaronJB Posted January 11, 2009 Report Posted January 11, 2009 Thank you for posting your win - hopefully the hotel's renovation won't be too much of an issue. I'm a little surprised that the hotel says that "major" renovation is going on for a year (9/08-9/09) - doesn't renovating a hotel usually take 2-4 months? Please use the site's links to PRICELINE or HOTWIRE for future travel purchases.Enjoy your trip!
blindman Posted January 12, 2009 Report Posted January 12, 2009 If you could write a review of your stay and how the disruption affected you then I know I'd appreciate it!
Randi66 Posted January 12, 2009 Report Posted January 12, 2009 If you could write a review of your stay and how the disruption affected you then I know I'd appreciate it!I'd appreciate it too. Btw, I started at 40$ based on a 59$ 2.5 star I saw on Hotwire. After I "won" at 40.00, I wondered if I could have maybe gotten it for 38.00. I'm glad to see I was pretty spot on!! Happy Travelling, Randi
texashighway Posted January 15, 2009 Author Report Posted January 15, 2009 My stay is complete and my review has been submitted! My Hotel Review
blindman Posted January 15, 2009 Report Posted January 15, 2009 Much appreciated, thanks.Glad the work did not disrupt the stay.I had a similar experience at the HI at Anaheim. The whole hotel was under scaffolding and plastic sheeting. No mention at all on their web-site.At least we got an updated room and they gave a free breakfast and free shuttle as compensation.
