Claudia Posted January 5, 2009 Report Posted January 5, 2009 We arrive from the UK on Feburary 4th in Tampa and I just tried to get a 4* Hotel but haven't been lucky, went up to 80$. It is the first day I am trying so didn;t want to get any higher. What would be an acceptable offer for a 4*star hotel in February in Tampa? Or a 3.5*?I am then looking for the resort on Marco Island for February 7-9 or 4* in Naples. Again, what would be the most likely bid to win?Do I need to bid between 120-150$?I need some more nights in other places along the west coast but those are flexible and will try when I have sorted Tampa and Naples out. Thanks for your help! ( I did use your PRICELINE links!)
thereuare Posted January 5, 2009 Report Posted January 5, 2009 Please only post one per stay per thread... we'll use this thread for your Tampa stay, please feel free to start a NEW TOPIC for your Marco Island stay. For Tampa, is this just for one nite, 2/4? Which zone(s) are you including in your bidding? How much are hotel direct rates for this nite(s)?Thanks for using our PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links. Claudia Posted January 5, 2009 Author Report Posted January 5, 2009 Tampa is for 2 nights, February 4th adn 5th. I inlcuded Downtown adn Busch Gardens in the bids so far. I checked the Grand Hyatt which has rates between 330 and 220 for those nights.
thereuare Posted January 5, 2009 Report Posted January 5, 2009 There are no 4* hotels offered in the Tampa Downtown or Busch Garden zones... the Grand Hyatt is in the Airport-Westshore zone. What exactly did you bid? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. Claudia Posted January 6, 2009 Author Report Posted January 6, 2009 I ONLY wanted a 4* star hotel, that why I added those zones deliberately to be able to make more bids in one day, is that not the strategy that one is supposed to do??
dahammer Posted January 6, 2009 Report Posted January 6, 2009 you should try to stay in Sanibel Island for a few days, this is about an hour north of Naples. Rates will be high as this is prime time.
thereuare Posted January 6, 2009 Report Posted January 6, 2009 I ONLY wanted a 4* star hotel, that why I added those zones deliberately to be able to make more bids in one day, is that not the strategy that one is supposed to do??You only listed these two zones at the ones you bid, but neither offers 4* bidding... what other zone did you include for which you were trying to win a hotel? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. Claudia Posted January 6, 2009 Author Report Posted January 6, 2009 Airport-Westshore of course as that is othe only area with 4*, sorry I didn't think that I have to mention this as I wrote I tried to bid for a 4* Hotel and this is the only area which offers 4* Hotels
thereuare Posted January 6, 2009 Report Posted January 6, 2009 You should try to be as clear as possible when posting as it makes it easier to reply to your posts and understand what you have already done (same with the dates of your stay turned out to be a 2 nite stay)Given rates you're currently seeing thru conventional booking methods, what is your current maximum bid? We will then suggest a strategy for you to follow. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.
