eabarton
First off, this site is great. I have always wanted to gin some sort of edge before buying blind through hotwire. So thanks!I am searching for dates in July. Las Vegas, NV - Tue, Jul 7 to Fri, Jul 10 -1 room, 3 nights, 2 adults Through all the information on here, all i can gather is that the 5* hotel offered is the Trump. Also, what the 4* offering all about? Please help. And what are the percentages that it will be this particular hotel? Thanks!! and hopefully the image will work<links deleted> Link to comment

eabarton
I was just wondering what the thoughts were on bidding through Priceline for the above rooms? We are looking to go from July 21-24. Hotwire shows the Trump (at least I think) for $99 a night. I just do not think it gets better then this. Please, your insight is needed! :) Link to comment
AaronJB
The issue with choosing HOTWIRE over PRICELINE comes down to a few things, although probably one of the most important is hotel selection. If you see a hotel you really like on HOTWIRE and you like the price, by all means, go for it. When you get into the below-$100 range on HOTWIRE for a 5*, I can't imagine you will do vastly better via PRICELINE. While PRICELINE will likely get you a cheaper rate, you could end up at a different 5*.There's no right or wrong in this situation, it comes down to personal preference. Link to comment
eabarton
yeah that's understandable. I'm just curious as to what Priceline has been offering as their 5*. The one offered through Hotwire has all the signs of being the Trump. Link to comment
AaronJB
The reported wins for PRICELINE in Vegas can be found here:Priceline Las Vegas Hotel ListOther hotels may show up as wins, but what has been reported is included in the list at the link. Please use the site's PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to start your purchase, if you do decide to book with either service. eabarton
Thanks. I had seen this already. I just made the assumption that changes could have come about from the original post in 2003. Sorry. Link to comment
AaronJB
No problem - the post has been edited since, but the time at the top probably reflects the original date of that post. Link to comment

Sorry. With all the changes in Vegas, many of the hotels on the list weren't even built in 2003! :)If you don't care as to which 5* hotel you end up in i would try to beat the HOTWIRE price by bidding on PRICELINE... if what you believe is the Trump is of interest to you, and you want to try that particular property, then by all means grab it thru HOTWIRE. (note that the Trump is slightly off the strip, and also doesn't have a casino, which may or may not be important to you depending upon if you've been to Vegas before and/or what you intend to do while in town)Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you decide or if we can be of further help. thereuare
We've merged all your threads for this one set of dates into this thread.... please keep all posts for the same stay in the same thread.Do these dates replace your previous Hotwire Hotel request for 7/7-7/10 or are you taking two trips to Vegas in the same month? (or are your dates not yet firm)If you go back to HOTWIRE and click the CONTINUE button next to this offering and then click the "See all amenities" link under the icons, do you see more amenities than what you've listed above? NOTE: you will likely need to click the pop-up window with the amenities, the CTRL+A, and copy/paste to a text program such as NOTEPAD or WORDPAD to see them all since HOTWIRE is missing the scrollbars from this window. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. eabarton
No, I can see all the amenities by using the arrows on the keyboard. And the ones I listed are it. Also, that dates have firm with the 21-24th now. And I opened a new topic because it was just a hotwire question and didn't apply to priceline. Link to comment
thereuare
Please keep all posts for the same stay in the same thread... if you ultimately use HOTWIRE we'll move the entire thread to that section of the board. This makes it easier to see what other options are available and what else has already been considered, as well, users tend not to go back to the 'other' thread to close that thread, so keeping all posts for the same stay in the same thread helps keep the board more orderly and few 'unresolved' threads. The 5* hotel above has not yet been reported. It may be an arleady reported hotel with fewer amenity icons than previously seen (as HOTWIRE has been doing lately, changing the amenities from search-to-search) OR it could be a new, previoulsy unreported hotel... if the latter, the only thing that i can think would qualify would be the Bellagio or Encore. I think for the most part users are fairly content with most 5* hotels in Vegas, the only exception being the Trump, which the above can't be since the Trump doesn't have a casino and the above is showing a casino icon. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help.
