ebbeysweets Posted December 30, 2008 Report Posted December 30, 2008 Went on Hotwire and saw "3* hotel in near strip west" as a hotel option between 1/1/09-1/2/09 for $55Amenities:Casino, Airport Shuttle,Fitness Center,Pool, Resteraunt,Business Center,High Speed InternetTrip Advisor Rated it as 3.5 out of 5The hotel is Palace Station TowerOn Hotwire it read a fee of about $5 PER PERSON PER NIGHT will be charged to a credit card at check in...I read reviews and the price as of 12/15/08 was actually 10.95. Also read that the shuttle does not run as early as some would think and it's not free..it's $5/each way. Wish I would have seen that before I booked. :)
dahammer Posted December 31, 2008 Report Posted December 31, 2008 thanks for your post, but the Palace Station appears on the Hotwire Hotel List Nevada3* Palace Station (previously 2.5*)Amenities: Casino, Shuttle, Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business,as far as the Resort Fee Charge of $10.95, unfortunately this is becoming more common at several Las Vegas properties that would not be considered resorts. The Red Rock charges a daily resort fee of $24.95. These fees are just another way to increase revenue without raising posted room rates and I feel this practice is just plain wrong. This is made even worse because you did not pick the hotel, HOTWIRE picked it for you and then you are required to pay another 20% on top of your HOTWIRE price. There is nothing you can do except try to negotiate something from the desk clerk, maybe a free room upgrade or a pass to the buffet. You should complain to HOTWIRE, if everyone who had to fork over a resort fee complained then maybe this unfair policy would be amended.
