Rochester Rich Posted December 30, 2008 Report Posted December 30, 2008 I lost track of my bids for this post but I tried at different prices at 3, 3.5, and 4* in the Pike Place zone using free bid zones as available for each zone. After many unsuccessful bids I got 2 rooms at the Hotel Vintage Park at $80 /night each for 2 nights. I still need a hotel for 1/8 through 1/11 in the Lake Union or University zones. I was thinking if I could confirm 2 beds in each room at the Vintage Park I might extend the stay for 3 nights and just bid for the final weekend nights starting back at $50 or lower. We don't need anything fancy --- got curling matches at noon and 8:00 pm each day.As always I started my Priceline bidding with the link on the main page. Thanks, Rich
AaronJB Posted December 30, 2008 Report Posted December 30, 2008 Nice win for a Kimpton Property! :)Thanks for using the site's PRICELINE link. One idea might be to call and ask what the bedding situation is; maybe tell the hotel you're thinking of extending your stay if you can confirm two beds and see what they say.Let us know if you need help (post another thread, since it would be a separate stay) for 1/8-11. If they were able to extend your stay at this property, I think that would be great, though.
Colfax Posted December 30, 2008 Report Posted December 30, 2008 Congrats on your win, Rochester Rich.On their website Vintage Park charges more for two-bed rooms than one. On 1/6-1/8 one king is $152 and two queens $170. I'm interested to hear if Vintage Park gives you two beds for free on Priceline or if they ask for an upgrade fee.I still need a hotel for 1/8 through 1/11 in the Lake Union or University zones. If you need two beds I'd stick with Lake Union. 3.5* Hotel Deca in Northgate-University zone is nice but many one-bed rooms there. Or book it on HOTWIRE, so you can stipulate "3 adults" and only be offered two-bed rooms.
