videousaf Posted December 30, 2008 Report Posted December 30, 2008 5* Las Vegas (Center Strip) Wynn - $116 per night1/15/09 - 1/18/09Used the HOTWIRE link for betterbidding.Amenities:CasinoFitness CenterPool(s)Restaurant(s)Business CenterGolf NearbyTennis NearbySpa Services -------Won this property at the above rate; I called and asked for two bed option and was told they were not able to add requests for 2 beds becuase it was a Hotwire reservation! The reservation operator said I should call Hotwire and try to cancel or have them add the two bed requests. Great advice, huh?
Colfax Posted December 30, 2008 Report Posted December 30, 2008 Welcome to BetterBidding, videousaf. Sorry about your 1 bed/2 bed problem. If you require two beds you need to enter "3 adults" on Hotwire's bid page not "2 adults". "3 adults" guarantees two beds. "2 adults" might be one bed or two. When I enter "2 adults" for your dates I get the Wynn for $116 like you did. When I enter "3 adults" I get the Venetian at $179. That means Wynn is only guaranteeing one-bed rooms for Hotwire reservations those nights. When you show up you might get 2 beds anyhow. But it's not guaranteed.Do you think you'll try and get a refund from Hotwire? Thanks for using the BetterBidding HOTWIRE link.

As you predicted, I was booked into the Venition! YAY! They did give me a refund but only after the new booking was charged to my account. I did not get a refund on my trip insurance but they did say it could be converted if I call the insurance company. Thanks for your advice! It made all the difference.
AaronJB Posted December 30, 2008 Report Posted December 30, 2008 I'm a little surprised that the Wynn didn't allow you to get two beds (while it isn't guaranteed, others have been reporting the hotel is a little more accommodating in this regard. Still, equally surprised that HOTWIRE allowed the switch, but that is terrific customer service on their part.
Colfax Posted December 30, 2008 Report Posted December 30, 2008 I'm glad that worked out, videousaf.Did Hotwire charge you $116 for two beds at the Venetian (matching Wynn's price) or $179 (the Venetian's published rate for two beds)? From another post you wrote it sounds like you were allowed to rebook but at the $179 rate.

From another post you wrote it sounds like you were allowed to rebook but at the $179 rate.I called and told them I meant to book a 3 person instead of 2 person reservation (because I need two beds, not because there are three people). The guy was real nice about it and said that he could see it was a mistake and allowed me to redo my booking. They did not do any price matching, they merely allowed me to rebook as though it was a new deal and the call tech did the booking for me as though I was doing it online. Once my card went through for the new offer (I knew it would be the Venetion based on the tips here from the board) they then 'cancelled' the other deal and refunded me the money.
Colfax Posted December 31, 2008 Report Posted December 31, 2008 Thanks for the update, videousaf. I edited the topic line to show a price of $179 now.Have a good trip.
