AaronJB
Welcome to the site. :)Not all 5*'s in the CS area that do appear are the Wynn, but the Wynn has been showing up a lot lately (which isn't a bad thing) and this would appear to be another instance of it appearing. If you bought it, you could be another Wynner on HOTWIRE. (okay, I'm not funny.)If you do decide to book this property, it would be greatly appreciated if you could use the site's link to HOTWIRE. Thank you. Link to comment
MurtleCake
I've been pulling it up too for 1/31-2/2, for $109, it's actually far less expensive than any of the 3 or 4 star hotels even for that weekend. Haha, I guess it's not bad! Link to comment
wi.biker
So, I tried it. I clicked through the search results to the hotel offer I wanted, and filled out the forms.By the time I got to the end, it said the itinerary was no longer available, now the price is $20 higher. Is there something fishy here, or is my luck that bad? Colfax
Prices can change or inventory can disappear at any second. If those happen in the middle of your typing you won't be able to execute your purchase as planned. It's like there's ten tickets left for a concert and you're the eleventh person standing in line.I still see Wynn for 2/11-2/15, but I'm getting a price of $114 now. It could go lower again, or up, or disappear. Please use this HOTWIRE link if you purchase. Link to comment
wi.biker
I realize that's how it works, but it was at $99 for the week I was watching it. Then, it coincidentally goes up right when I happen to attempt and book the deal? I realize it maybe just bad luck, but, what timing.. Link to comment
Colfax
It was $114 when I checked 12 hours ago and it's still $114 now. It wasn't a bait and switch then or anything personal. Just bad luck.Is the difference between $99 and $114 enough that you don't want the Wynn now? Or will you hold out and see if it comes back down? Link to comment
wi.biker
In the past 18 hours, Ive gotten quotes of 99, 119, and now 114. Right now Im sitting on the fence, ready to pull the trigger, but hoping to see the 99$ before trying again. We'll see.. Link to comment
wi.biker
Up to 129 today. Could this weekend's holiday bookings affect the pricing a month and a half down the road? Link to comment
dahammer
Up to 129 today. Could this weekend's holiday bookings affect the pricing a month and a half down the road?not really, hotels use PRICELINE to sell off room inventory that may go unsold through normal channels, so holiday bookings today won't affect prices 6 weeks from now. The best advice is to make a cancellable reservation and then monitor rates to see if they move south, then bid up to your maximum budget using the rebid zones. Link to comment
wi.biker
up to 149 now.. 5 different prices in a couple of days time. Link to comment
Colfax
If you want to probe deeper check the Hotwire rates one day at a time. You'll be able to see if one or two of your four nights are causing the problem. If Weds/Thurs are low and Fri/Sat much higher (I haven't looked) you could book the cheap days now, and lock two nights at Wynn anyhow. Link to comment
wi.biker
Thanks for suggestion, but I know it's a premium weekend Im looking for, undoubtedly the rates are higher. Would rather not hotel-hop this visit. I am surprised to see the rate on hotwire change as frequently as it does. Its back to 129 again tonight. Link to comment
Colfax
I don't follow Vegas much but gyrating Hotwire rates aren't that uncommon.Do you have a strike price in mind that you'll buy at? Link to comment
wi.biker
Tonight it dropped back to 119, so I locked it in, Wynn, as suspected.. Should be a good V-Day :) Link to comment
