3 star - rejected to 175.

3.5 star - rejected to 185.

4 star - rejected to 200.

I played around with the dates to no avail. I know there are some big nights in my date range but I am still very surprised at the results.

Welcome to the site. :)

The Ocean Five Hotel is $187.99 for your dates ($235 for the first 4 nights, fifth night free.) Use coupon code FABSAVE10 (10% off), which takes $94 bucks off the final total.

If this is of interest, please use the site's link to Orbitz.

I'm not sure why your PRICELINE bid isn't being accepted, but there's other options out there, such as the one above. HOTWIRE also has options in South Beach/Miami Beach for about what you've bid, as well - so I wouldn't go any further with PRICELINE...

If you do decide to go with HOTWIRE, please use the site's HOTWIRE link.

Let us know how it turns out and if you have any questions.

I suspect New Years Eve is your problem.

Are you willing to split your five-night stay between two hotels? You can probably win your last three nights at a lower rate than you've already bid for five nights together. Then bid 12/30 & 12/31 together.

Picture a hotel with the following Priceline rates for your dates. The numbers are made up but the scenario is realistic.

12/30 $100

12/31 $210

1/1 $100

1/2 $100

1/3 $100

In order to win five nights in a single bid you'd have to bid $210, enough to win the most expensive night. That would be a significant overbid for the other four nights though. You could have won the last three nights alone for $100. Make sense?
