I have just been unsuccessful in rebidding at priceline for a rome central 5* hotel for 14th to 20th march 2009. I have gone up to US175, and I did not go further

because I am aware that I might get The Intercontinental Rome, which Hotwire offers for US199. I have already used both sites, but I could not remember if

hotwire`s taxes are lower than priceline taxes. What do you suggest? I am also looking at non-opaque sites. Are agoda and skoosh reliable sites? Thank you.

P.S.: I have used your PRICELINE links, as usual.

Generally Priceline's transaction fees are a little higher than Hotwire's. A successful $100 bid on Priceline usually costs a few dollars more, bottom line, than a $100 purchase on Hotwire. On the other hand Priceline's room rates are often lower than Hotwire's.

On Priceline and Hotwire you can view bottom line prices, including tax/fee, prior to purchase. Just click past the first screen, as if you were going to purchase or bid, and the bottom line prices will display. You don't have to purchase to see the total price.

Thanks for using the board's links.
