ToB Posted December 24, 2008 Report Posted December 24, 2008 I bid $95.00 received the Financial Hilton. I have stayed there before. With taxes, fees, came out to about $112.00 per night. On the Hilton website the same hotel with taxes was $185.00 per night, so a great savings.
Colfax Posted December 24, 2008 Report Posted December 24, 2008 Thanks for the post, ToB.Please use this PRICELINE link for your future purchases.Enjoy your stay.
ToB Posted January 18, 2009 Author Report Posted January 18, 2009 Last weekend was the second time I have stayed at the Hilton Financial and both times they put me in a small room by the elevator and both times the purchase was through Priceline, so I think they see where the reservation came through and they give the worst room. Thre is only one of such a size on each floor, so beware if using Priceline or Hotwire. At this hotel it seems to make a difference. The hotel is great, service wonderful, regular rooms are very nice. It is just the dump given to the customers of Priceline which makes it a less then enjoyable stay.
thereuare Posted January 18, 2009 Report Posted January 18, 2009 Since you have another upcoming stay there in a few weeks, why not ask at check-in, "Last time i was given a room ending in ## (since all rooms on the same line will have this number) and really didn't enjoy my stay since the room was so small, i'd appreciate it if you could get something else this time in the middle of the hall and not directly next to the elevator".They may attempt to give the small rooms to the PRICELINE and/or HOTWIRE customers, or they may attempt to give these rooms to whoever will accept them, so asking at check-in let's them know that you're a previous customer as well as let's them know what you'd like... perhaps they'll accomodate your request and we'll then know for certain if this is indeed given PRICELINE customers the least prefered rooms. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
ToB Posted January 21, 2009 Author Report Posted January 21, 2009 You read my mind. That is what I had thought of saying. The rooms by the elevator's end in 00 (room 20000 was my first room).
