veeRob Posted December 23, 2008 Report Posted December 23, 2008 Will be playing poker at the Commerce Casino. Not too stoked on this hotel as it's quite a bit away from the casino. Last time I got the Doubletree right down the street. Oh well.
AaronJB Posted December 23, 2008 Report Posted December 23, 2008 Sorry the hotel wasn't exactly what you were looking for. :) :) Still, thank you for posting your win and I hope you still will enjoy your trip. :o
Colfax Posted December 23, 2008 Report Posted December 23, 2008 The Doubletree Commerce is rated 3.5* now. You might have avoided the Radisson by bidding 3.5* instead of 3*. The Marriott in Norwalk is 3.5* too though, so bidding 3.5* doesn't guarantee the Doubletree. The Crowne Plaza connected to the Commerce Casino often shows up on Hotwire, but not on Priceline. I suspect the Crowne Plaza participates in Priceline too, but at a higher rate than the other 3.5* hotels in the zone, so it never comes up.
veeRob Posted December 24, 2008 Author Report Posted December 24, 2008 Thanks for the tip, Colfax. Unfortunately Hotwire only showed a 2* in the Commerce area, which I tried a few years ago. It was a Best Western a couple miles from Commerce Casino, and I'd rate it as a 1* after staying there -- just awful! I figured Doubletree was 3.5*, but seeing as there was only 1 free re-bid zone, I was forced to try a 3*.
