Hotwire Hotel: Need help in north miami beach/hollywood/ft lauderdale area for 1/2/29

I am new to this site and looking to book something in North Miami Beach - Bal Harbour-Hollywood-Fort Lauderdale Beach area. After looking at success here, I was hoping to find either Newport Beachside Resort, Crown Plaza Resort Hollywood Beach, or Sheraton Yankee Clipper on hotwire. I don't think I see them. Any help would be appreciated. Traveling to area for the Orange Bowl with wife and two kids and was really hoping for one of these at a great rate or something comparable. Another couple may be looking to stay near us also, but not sure how to handle two rooms.

Any help?

Can you clarify your date of stay. You mention 1/2/29, which I take to mean Jan 2 09, but the Orange Bowl is Jan 1.

Additionally, there *are* cheaper prices in other parts of Miami if you're willing to stay downtown or in some of the other areas.

The Alexander All-Suite does have bayview 2BR suites for $349 via Expedia. According to the site, the suites are 1,200 square feet.

Sorry for date mistake. We are flying in on 12/29/08 and departing on Jan. 3, 09. Orange bowl is on the 1st. Trying to make a family vacation out of it and prefer to stay on beach or at least very near (walking distance to beach).

Also, prior to using this site, I found what I was sure was Crowne Plaza Hollywood Beach on Lastminutetravel.com for $164 however it listed the room as on request and if I went forward they would get back to me within 48 hours to see if accepted. Do you or anyone have experience with this and is there a good chance to get that room?

Option 1: a 3* in Miami Beach with the amenities Beachfront, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), High-speed Internet Access for $153 (the price you see may differ), which is likely the Miami Beach Holiday Inn.

There is also a 3* Condo in the Miami Beach North - Bal Harbor - Sunny Isles area with the amenities beachfront, breakfast, pool, restaurant, laundry, golf. This isn't an exact match, but it MIGHT be the Best Western Oceanfront. $188.

The Churchill Suites is available for $326.25 (2 Bedroom) on Orbitz. FABSAVE10 coupon code takes 10% off each night, which gives you a 2BR condo for about $50 under your max.

I think the Churchill Suites looks like a pretty nice option if you are interested in a 2BR.

Churchill Suites Intracoastal Yacht Club is in the North Miami Beach area on Orbitz. The Hotel is $349; I don't know why it was coming up $326 when I searched it earlier (maybe I was accidentally searching for 2 people instead of 4?) Still struggling to find something in 3* or higher range in north miami up to hollywood area that I like for under $200 per night.

The 2.5* in North Miami Beach zone could be the Howard Johnsons Plaza Hotel Dezerland Beach and Spa. How's that for a name?

The TripAdvisor ratings of 2.5/5 with 140+ reviews are a match.

Caveat: I'm not very familiar with Miami Beach and Hotwire's maps aren't detailed enough for me to tell where Miami Beach zone ends and North Miami Beach zone begins. Howard Johnsons is at 87th and Collins. If that's in North Miami Beach zone then HoJos would be my guess.

The reviews I looked at weren't too good though, as refelected in the 2.5* rating.

In post #1 you wrote you wanted North Miami/Hollywood/Ft Lauderdale. In post #18 you said just North Miami or Hollywood.

Checking quad occupancy the Hollywood hotels are over $300 for your dates, but there's a 3.5* Resort in Ft Lauderdale Beach zone for $200, your limit.

Yes, Fort Lauderdale is still an option. Do you have any idea which place the 3.5 resort is you speak of?

The 3.5* in FT Lauderdale Beach zone w/ Resort, Near Beach, Restuarant, Pool, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Golf, Tennis, Spa would appear to be a possible match for the Hyatt Pier 66. The tripadvisor rating also matches..

Thanks for all the help. I have reserved the marriott harbor beach for $199 which was a special rate that appeared on the orange bowl partner web site yesterday. I think that is perfect for us.

Now I need rental car help. Flying into West Palm beach on 12/30 and departing from there on 1/3. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I will definitely be using this site for future hotel bookings as I have learned alot from here.
