TrueNorth Posted December 16, 2008 Report Posted December 16, 2008 I'm looking at booking a hotel from February 13, 2009 to February 16th for 4 people and there is a five star hotel that matches the amenities listed for the Wynn. The hotel appears when I search for 2 people per room, but not when I increase the search to 4 people per room. I've never stayed at the Wynn, but I believe the majority of the rooms have a king size bed. Does the fact that the hotel doesn't show up when I search for 4 people likely mean that this is for a king room? I know this isn't an exact science, but I would appreciate anyone's insight or even if someone knows if the Wynn does have many queen bed rooms. Thanks alot.
AaronJB Posted December 16, 2008 Report Posted December 16, 2008 What amenities are showing exactly? Some hotels only sign with HOTWIRE for double (1 bed, whether it be king or queen - not sure what the Wynn has) occupancy, so they will only show up in searches for 1/2 people. Other HOTWIRE hotels do sign with HOTWIRE for allowing up to 4, and they are the ones that show up when you search for 4.Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases.
TrueNorth Posted December 16, 2008 Author Report Posted December 16, 2008 The amenities showing are Casino, Fitness, pool, restaurant, business centre, golf, tennis and spa.The listed price is $95 per night which I think is a great deal considering it's a long weekend. At this rate I might just book an extra room, but we'll see. (And if I book, I'll be sure to use the HOTWIRE link :) )
Colfax Posted December 16, 2008 Report Posted December 16, 2008 First the easy part: those icons are a match for the Wynn. That a hotel doesn't show up on Hotwire when you check for 4 adults doesn't necessarily mean that they have no 2-bed rooms available. If you purchase you have no guarantee of two beds though. It's a gamble. Some hotels load all their inventory---one bed and two bed rooms---at the 2 person rate. When they do that nothing shows up when searching for 3 or 4 adults, even though the hotel has two-bed rooms available. On their website the Wynn is asking $50/night more for 3 adults in a room than for 2 adults for your dates. It's possible Wynn might ask an upgrade fee for a room with two beds then. I haven't stayed there myself and can't report anything firsthand.
TimmyC Posted December 18, 2008 Report Posted December 18, 2008 Today I booked the Wynn through Hotwire. After I booked I gave the hotel a call and requested two beds in the room. They said no problem and put the request in. She mentioned that it wasn't guaranteed, but that typically they run out of King Bed Rooms before two double bed rooms. There is an additional charge for more than two people per night if you let the hotel know. Hope this info helps.TC
