Hotwire Hotel: Newbie looking for 5 star in Center Strip

I am completely new to HOTWIRE so please excuse the simple questions:

1) Does Hotwire's Center Strip zone mean only strip hotels and not off strip hotels?

2) The dates I want to go are showing a five star in the Center Strip for 99 a night with Casino, Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Business, Golf, Tennis and Spa. From reading the other reviews this suggests it is the Wynn correct?

3) Further, in the event its not the Wynn the only other five stars in that area would be the Venetian and the Palazzo right?

Any tips/comments would be helpful as this seems way to easy to get a great room for a fraction of the regular room rate.

No, it is a general description of the area and the hotel can be anywhere within the shaded boundaries of the zone, as defined by HOTWIRE.

Yes, this is a match for the Wynn and that would be our best guess.

No, the hotel lists only contain hotels that have been reported to the board... there could be a new hotel not yet reported to the board or a hotel at a lowe star rating which has been upgraded to a 5* and you would be the first to report it.

Why are the dates important?

The dates are important as it helps us research the hotel. For example the hotel you're currently being offered not only matches those previously reported for the Wynn, but it also shows a Tripadvisor rating of 4.0/5.0 with 1460+ reviews... this is also consistent with the Wynn and increases the likelihood that this is the property you're being offered (and therefore increases our confidence in this being our best guess... as well as excludes this being the Trump since that property doesn't have anywhere near 1400+ reviews).

Trying to book 6 to 8 rooms for April 29 to May 3 for surprise birthday party. This is the first time I have looked at Hotwire and Priceline as an option on getting a deal. My understanding is TI is the only 4 star hotel in the north strip zone, is that correct? Any suggestions on how to get multiple rooms for multiple nights?

Any help would be appreciated.

On Priceline you can book up to 9 rooms in a single reservation. If your bid is accepted all rooms will be at the same hotel.

On Hotwire you can book up to 4 rooms in a single reservation.

There's no trick to getting multiple rooms. The bid page has a field for entering the number of rooms you want.

If you use Hotwire there's a small chance the hotel where you buy your first four rooms won't have four more after your first purchase, and your party would have to stay at two hotels.

Treasure Island is the only reported 4* in Priceline's Strip North zone, but things could change at any time. A current 3* hotel could have been upgraded and noone's reported it yet. I don't think that's likely but you can never be 100% sure what you're getting on Priceline.

Have you checked if the Wynn is available on Hotwire for your dates? For some dates the Wynn is coming in at lower prices than a Priceline 4*.

I am looking at a 5 star central strip from 04/29 to 05/03. I think it is the Pallazzo but as I am new please help me identify. Secondly as this is the first time I have tried to stay at the Pallazzo or Venetian can anyone help me confirm if this is a good price or should I hold out to see if they go lower. I know its a tough question but any help would be appreciated.

Sorry...its showing Resort, Suite, Casino, Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business...for 2 adults. And the price is $169 per night.

Nope...just those ones. Also says that there are 860+ reviews on Tripadvisor. There are 884 reviews on the Pillazzo. So unless I am missing something that is what it seems to be. Sound about right?

So then the second question is this a good price for the Pallazzo/Venetian or can I do better if I wait?

Nobody can say if rates will go down, or up, between now and your stay... it all depends upon how reservations and cancellations come in relative to expectations. If this is a hotel you want, besides price risk, you also have the risk that this offering disappears and is replaced by a different hotel that you may not like as much. It's currently about a $40/nite savings vs. a conventionally booked room for these nites, so you need to decide if this is worth locking in a non-refundable reservation at this point in time. One word of caution though, if rates do go up, nobody makes an announcement beforehand and gives you a chance to book before they change... they'll suddenly be higher and you'll have to select from the current offerings/prices at that time.
