bluerainbow Posted December 10, 2008 Report Posted December 10, 2008 Hello, I hope I am posting this in the right place. I don't know if I will get responses fast enough but here goes:So I need a hotel room with two beds in Santa Barbara for tomorrow night 12/10 only. I would like to pay 90 or less. I am not too worried about star level I guess not below 3. I know PRICELINE says they are booking the room for a King bed not the two beds I need. Is it something that can be easily handled once I get the hotel info if I win? Or does HOTWIRE allow specific info like that and I should use them instead? How much should I make the bid for?The little warning box saying that it is unlikely they will accept my bid if I do anything lower than 90 does that box mean anything as far as telling how much I should bid? Thanks!
Colfax Posted December 10, 2008 Report Posted December 10, 2008 So I need a hotel room with two beds in Santa Barbara for tomorrow night 12/10 only.PRICELINE will usually beat HOTWIRE on price but if you definitely need two beds you shouldn't use Priceline because two beds aren't guaranteed. On Hotwire you can enter "3 adults" and only be offered rooms with two beds. If you enter "2 adults" you're only guaranteed one bed (although you still might get two).Does Hotwire show anything in Santa Barbara in your price range? If you post the icons someone can try and identify the hotel. Or since it's late and your reply might not be seen before you need to decide something you can check the thumbtacked Hotwire Hotel List and see if there's a match there. Please use this HOTWIRE link if you purchase, and let us know what you get.
bluerainbow Posted December 10, 2008 Author Report Posted December 10, 2008 nope nothing in santa barbara on HOTWIREso how do I know how much to bid on PRICELINE?
Colfax Posted December 10, 2008 Report Posted December 10, 2008 If HOTWIRE has no inventory in Santa Barbara then PRICELINE may not either. If you're willing to take the gamble on one bed my suggestion would be to bid $110 for a Santa Barbara 3*; then $110 for a 2.5*, unless you can find a conventional rate at an acceptable hotel for less than $110.Since this is for tonight I suspect you've already booked something. We'd be interested to hear what you booked, even if it's not via PRICELINE.
