mulder1921
We are going to L.A. 4/24/08 until 4/29/08 to hit the casinos and card rooms. They are all located in what has been described as "undesirable" areas- Gardena, Bell Gardens, and Commerce. I have never been to L.A. so I have no clue which areas are safe. We would like to stay somewhat near or inbetween the 3 but I don't know which area to do my search on PRICELINE or HOTWIRE. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Link to comment
mulder1921
3.5 star hotel in Downey/Commerce/Norwalk area4/24/09-4/29/091 room 2 peopleIt has casino listed in amenties so I assume its the Crowne Plaza at the Commerce Casino. The hotel lists King room as $130.13 average rate. HOTWIRE has $112 per night. What do you think I could bid on PRICELINE for that hotel. Or should I not risk it and just book the $112?Thanks. Colfax
With the full set of icons that does look like a match for the Crowne Plaza in Commerce. This is an unusual case in that the casino icon alone is enough to make the ID. HOTWIRE's casino icon means "full-service casino accessible from hotel lobby", and the Crowne Plaza is the only hotel in the zone that fits that bill. The Hotwire rate is $109 now and you can book the Crowne Plaza conventionally for about $130. These are modest savings, especially after Hotwire's transaction fee. What if you could win a 3.5* or 3* on PRICELINE for $50-60 but it was some other hotel than the Crowne Plaza, maybe the Marriott Norwalk, and you had to drive several miles to the casino? Are the savings worth the drive to you? Or do you only want to stay at the Crowne Plaza? Link to comment

thereuare
Please keep all posts for the same stay in the same thread...The above is a match for the Clarion and the Tripavisor information shown by HOTWIRE is consistent with this property also, so that would be our best guess too. Thanks in advance for using our PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your purchases.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help.
