dahammer Posted December 9, 2008 Report Posted December 9, 2008 Started out bidding in the Secaucus-North Bergen zone at the 3* level, opened at $65 and received a $17 counteroffer (not a $22...hmmm). I dropped to a 2.5* and bid $72 but was rejected. I was out of rebid zones and didn't want to take a risk and add Short Hills, so I started a new bid in Meadowlands-Rutherford at $65 and received the "low chance" warning. Overcome by guilt, I raised the bid to $66, and received a $17 counteroffer. I dropped down to 3* in hopes of getting the Courtyard in Lyndhurst, and increased the bid to $71. Success!Your Offer Price: $71.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $18.91 Total Charges: $89.91 I was really hoping to avoid this hotel, HOTWIRE had it for $99, so I thought I'd have little chance of my bid being accepted. The direct rate through Sheraton is $179. This is a decent property, but WiFi adds $10 to the bill and breakfast is extra. As mentioned before, you really need a car at this hotel because the shuttle to the Secaucus Junction or NJT bus stop in Secaucs is usually filled in the mornings.Made my bids through the PRICELINE links on the board.

Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
dahammer Posted December 10, 2008 Author Report Posted December 10, 2008 I agree, I've stayed here several times and never had a problem, I think the hotel is far better than the reviews would lead you to believe. I think many of the bad reviews are because of problems with the free shuttle service and it seems that there are a lot of school groups that book here.
