GM Mike Posted December 9, 2008 Report Posted December 9, 2008 Bidding history:$47, counteroffer for $60$49, nothing$50, counteroffer for $56$51, WINSheraton Heathrow Hotel Heathrow AirportColnbrook Bypass West Drayton, United Kingdom 44 20 8759 2424Check-In Date:Mon, Jan 19, 2009 / After 02:00 PMCheck-Out Date:Tue, Jan 20, 2009 / 12:00 PM Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: US$51.00 Subtotal: US$51.00 Taxes & Service Fees: US$15.74 Total Charges: US$66.74 Kind of a disappointing win. Had been hoping to get the Crowne Plaza. Few good reviews on this place.Earlier in the week, I had been bidding for 1/15/09-1/17/09 in Mayfair-Soho. At 5* $80 I got a counteroffer for $173 - which would tend to indicate there is availability in that zone at a lower than average price. Is it worth another thread for that? I decided to use points to stay at the Holiday Inn instead of bidding anymore.Best rate listed on Sheraton website is 89 GBP = $131.89 USD, about 61% savings. Not bad at all...Used the board's PRICELINE link.
thereuare Posted December 9, 2008 Report Posted December 9, 2008 Thank you for sharing your results with the board... sorry to hear that you're disappointed with the results. One thing to keep in mind (although i know you know this) is that many of the reviewers are paying more than double what you're paying for their room... while a room at $150/nite comes with certain expectations and this property may fall short of delivering them, for $65/nite these may be things you can overlook and feel you received a good value. Feel free to let us know your own thoughts upon your return. Thanks for sharing your win with the board and using our PRICELINE link to begin your bidding.Hope your stay goes better than you expect. INDTim Posted December 14, 2008 Report Posted December 14, 2008 That hotel is not the best option but as long as you get a refurbished room you will be fine for an overnight.....especially at that rate. I would say that is a great rate for a weekday. There absolute cheapest rates are 49GBP on the weekends and during the week it is much more than that so that is a great rate even if it is not the absolute best hotel. It is fine, just not great.
Fermat Posted December 18, 2008 Report Posted December 18, 2008 It is a nice hotel and have stayed there many times. The Sheraton Skyline is more popular only beacuse of its location.Sheraton Heathrow can be booked on holidayextras.co.uk for
