luvthissite Posted November 18, 2008 Report Posted November 18, 2008 This site is great. My husband and I live in Queens and figured we'd see if we could get a nice hotel room just for Thanksgiving night (11/27/08). I originally punched in $100 for Midtown West, Central Park South and Times Square ( I was going to go up to $150), but priceline said there's a very small chance it would get accepted because a normal hotel is $350. So I went up to $115, all ready to do the whole rebidding thing I've learned about on here numerous times. What do you know, my first bid was accepted at the unbelievably low price by a really nice hotel - Millenium Broadway! I believe I saved a good 65% on what it would cost at full price. Moral of the story: don't not try even if it's a very busy time (can't get much busier than Thanksgiving). You might as well try for a lower price if you can do the rebidding thing here. Thanks for the great site!

Colfax Posted November 18, 2008 Report Posted November 18, 2008 Topic line says Marriott Marquis but post says Millenium Broadway. Which hotel did you win?
thereuare Posted November 18, 2008 Report Posted November 18, 2008 That may have been my mistake when formatting the topic title... i changed it to the Millenium Broadway as i think that is more likely correct, but hopefully luvthissite will confirm and we'll edit again if necessary.
