There are 3 hotels listed in the Tinton /Eatontown/Red bank area:

2* $69 - Suite, Laundry, Kitchenette - Based on posts here, I assume this is the Extended STay America

3* $89 - Laundry, Internet

3 1/2* $103 - Fitness, Pool, Restaurant, Bus.Ctr, Internet, Laundry - IS this the HOLIDAY INN? that was previously coming up as a 3*

Any idea on the 3* $89 Hotel? And is the 3.5* the Holiday Inn?

Thanks.

Actually now the prices are better than they were the other day:

2* 69

3*79

3.5* $99

Would like to identify these. Especially the 3* ????

We dont' see many purchases in this area, but i'd guess the following:

3.5* - Holiday Inn

3* - ???

2* - Extended StayAmerica (or similar... Homestead Suites, Extended Stay Deluxe, etc)

here's my two cents.....I think the 3.5* could be the Sheraton in Eatontown. I checked an old booking and the Holiday Inn is 3* and shows the following amenities: Restaurant, Pool, Fitness Center, Laundry Facilities. I think the 3* could be the Holiday Inn Express in West Long Branch. BTW, I recently bid and won the Extended Stay America in Red Bank via PRICELINE. I'm not a fan of this chain, but this property was recently renovated and the rooms are a notch better than the other dormitory-themed rooms that I have experienced in the past. Your stay is a Thursday night and hotels in this area typically less full, so you may get a better deal with PRICELINE, the trade off being that you must be willing to accept any property that matches the star rating you select.

Good luck and let us know how you make out.

PS. there's a good Vietnamese restaurant nearby called Saigon II a few miles from the ESA.

Ok-thank you. Yes it is Thanksgiving night so not sure what that will do in terms of availability and price.

I may try Priceline as you suggested. I just have to do some reading here to see how to go about it. And then use hotwire as a back up.

It looks like there are some decent hotels in the 2*-3* range in the location we need. However, I guess we have some risk as it is for 2 adults/3 kids.

I will look for some help in the Priceline Forum as well. It's good to hear the ESA is ok.

We are looking for a hotel Thanksgiving night, 11/27 for 1 night in

Tinton Falls Area. It looks like there are 2 zones in Priceline that would suit our needs:

1)Tinton Falls (Red Bank -Middletown)

2)Tinton Falls /Eatontown/Red Bank

Any of the possible hotels from 2*-3* would be fine.

Based on HOTWIRE, it looks like I can get the 2* (ext.stay america) for $69

or a 3* for $89.

So where should I start my bidding on PRICELINE?

Ideally I would like the 3* for obviously a bit less than the HOTWIRE price.

If it's not accepted at a decent discount over hotwire, I may do HOTWIRE in order to secure 2 double beds as we are a family of 5.

Thanks!

Please keep all posts for the same stay in the same thread... if you ultimately use PRICELINE we'll move this thread to that section of the board.

dahammer may be able to comment from experience in regards to this particular ESA, but many 'standard rooms' at Extended Stay properties only have one bed in them. I think using PRICELINE for 5, especially if your kids are not babies, is more than a 'little' risk (you don't mention their age, but the older they are the more the risk increases, imo).

When you did the HOTWIRE search above, did you select quad occupancy for your search?

OK, I did select 2 adults/ 2 children in my HOTWIRE search. I'll keep an eye on the HOTWIRE prices. I wish I knew what the 3* $79 was since it only has internet and laundry, it doesn't fall into any of the ones I have reviewed. I can get the holiday inn-tinton falls for $5 more on Expedia. Or the courtyard marriott for $15 more.

I have a little time so will see. The Ext.Stay Amer. seems to come and go on a daily basis.

note that the maximum occupancy for the Extended Stay is 4 to a room. I have always been given a room with one double bed but this hotel has rooms with two doubles; when using HOTWIRE with 4 to a room, the hotel must provide sleeping accomodations that could be one bed with a sofa bed. The ESA chain of hotels is really bare bones, so you may not be able to get a rollaway. As thereuare suggested, PRICELINE guarantees accomodations for two, so this would be a bit of a risk, getting a PRICELINE room with two beds would be the sole discretion of the hotel. That being said, my requested room preference is rarely turned down, just smile :) when inquiring.

Good luck and please use the HOTWIRE, PRICELINE and Expedia links if you proceed.
