foomee Posted October 28, 2008 Report Posted October 28, 2008 I am aiming to get the Hilton in the Concord-Lafayette Area.Looking at the priceline.com website, there are three hotels in the area that I think I may get:Crowne Plaza Concord, Hilton Concord, or Marriot Walnut Creek. Those hotels are all rated 3.5* on priceline.com.Are the hotels that you can win, different than the selection on the website?Or are they rated different as opposed to bidding? Also, looking at the other areas I can bid on, I have 4 bids total per 24/hours.What would you recommend to securing the Hilton?
thereuare Posted October 29, 2008 Report Posted October 29, 2008 Please follow-up your previous Priceline San Francisco thread with whatever you ended up doing for that stay... then bump this thread and we'll have a look at the above. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Thanks. thereuare Posted October 29, 2008 Report Posted October 29, 2008 Are the hotels that you can win, different than the selection on the website?Yes, see the related link in our PRICELINE FAQ.Or are they rated different as opposed to bidding? They should be rated the same. What would you recommend to securing the Hilton? You can't bid, or target, a specific property when using PRICELINE. If you are try to target a specific property HOTWIRE can be a better option as you're often able to take an educated guess as to the property you will receive based upon the amenities shown before your purchase, as opposed to PRICELINE where you're subject to any hotel in the zone at the minimum star rating you select.Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll advise accordingly... if you are looking for a PRICELINE strategy let us know your maximum bid as well. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. foomee Posted October 29, 2008 Author Report Posted October 29, 2008 on the priceline.com those three hotels are all rated 3.5*. However, on the list this website provides, the new one with the added 3.5* rating, it says two of the hotels are 3's, has it just not been updated?
Colfax Posted October 29, 2008 Report Posted October 29, 2008 When you find a ratings conflict between Priceline's website and BetterBidding's Hotel List go with what Priceline says. Hotel ratings change all the time and the BB Hotel List is never 100% up to date.If you find three 3.5* hotels in Priceline's retail listings you could win any of those three when bidding 3.5* in Name-Your-Own-Price.If you still want to use Priceline for this let us know your bidding limit and someone will suggest a strategy. You can also check HOTWIRE, where it's often possible to identify the hotel in advance. If you'll post the icons you find someone can confirm whether that hotel is the Hilton or not.

Try going to the Priceline Hotel List and hold CTRL and press the F5 key (the very top row of your keyboard) and see if you then see these three properties listed as 3.5* hotels. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.
