Guest voila Posted July 20, 2004 Report Posted July 20, 2004 I'm wondering whether there is any correlation between package prices, and which hotel you end up with if you just bid per night in a category. For example, I'm looking at 9/17-9/19 in Orlando, at a Resort level hotel. In packages, 6 hotels appear. If I lowball my offer, am I likely to end up at the one that appears cheapest in packages? Or is there simply no correlation at all, between which hotel is cheapest in packages, and which you end up with if you bid? The spread, by the way, is a difference of about $75 from cheapest to most expensive.
thereuare Posted July 20, 2004 Report Posted July 20, 2004 There is a loose correlation. It definately increases your odds, but i wouldn't go as far to say "you'll get the cheapest one in the list." billyblaze Posted August 18, 2005 Report Posted August 18, 2005 Has the answer to this question been updated? I am looking to bid for South Beach soon & scanned the package prices. The 4 star Royal Palm is much cheaper than the Clinton in the package option. If I check again right before I bid & the Royal Palm is still cheaper, is their any chance I get the Clinton?
thereuare Posted August 18, 2005 Report Posted August 18, 2005 There is always a chance... there are instances where users do not get the lowest priced hotel (as per the VP) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
