dahammer Posted October 14, 2008 Report Posted October 14, 2008 If your plans are firm you should bid up to your maximum and now that the JC Hyatt is 3.5* rated on Priceline, you have ample rebidding opportunities. The worst that can happen is that your bids are rejected and then you can increase and and add rebid zones. If still unsuccessful, you can start a new bid after 24 hours. While the HOTWIRE price can be used as a gauge its change should not prevent you from commencing a bid. Tempus fugit.
poorstudent Posted October 14, 2008 Author Report Posted October 14, 2008 good point on the priceline biddingi have been bidding (priceline) like you said, without success (no surprise)$85, $90, $95, $100 all rejected by pricelinei guess the plan of action will be bid/rebid on priceline all of this week and most of next weekmy backup plan is to just bid on a 3* hotel near Newark airport on the day before i really need a room (Thurs 10/23)any other suggestions?

poorstudent Posted October 15, 2008 Author Report Posted October 15, 2008 now hotwire is listing 4* Jersey City at $242 for 10/24price keeps going upmust be a convention or something?
thereuare Posted October 15, 2008 Report Posted October 15, 2008 it is all in the messages ...dates: 10/24/08 to 10/25/08 (1 night, not flexible)...my backup plan is to just bid on a 3* hotel near Newark airport on the day before i really need a room (Thurs 10/23)This is what i don't understand... do you actually want a room from 10/23-10/25 or just for 10/24??You state that you need a room for the nite of 10/24, but then your back-up plan is to bid for a room the nite before you really need it? If you need a room for 10/24 and are unsuccessful, how is bidding the nite before, for 10/23 going to help if the nite you need is 10/24?Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.
