perseus7401 Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 First time using PRICELINE for a hotel, so looked around on HOTWIRE and saw a price of 46 dollars for a 3 star hotel. I decided to bid 50 dollars on priceline for a 3 star hotel, and the result came with:Congratulations, we've upgraded your hotel quality level to a 4-star hotel. Your price of $50 was accepted by Hyatt Regency O HareAfter taxes total comes out to be 64.96Pretty happy with the results as the last time i was in chicago, my so called savvy friend stuck me in some ghetto hotel which was around 70 dollars, and this was couple of years ago, so hyatt 2 years later for less than 70 is a bargain in my book! :)
thereuare Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 Welcome to BetterBidding!Congratulations on your win and thank you for sharing your results with the board.Glad to see you're happy with the results, although if you saw a 3* hotel on HOTWIRE for $46 i'm not sure why you bid $50 on PRICELINE? :) Fortunately you were upgraded so it was probably an extra $4 well spent. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Enjoy your stay. perseus7401 Posted October 16, 2008 Author Report Posted October 16, 2008 Because couple of other bids I had tried in previous weeks using hotwire as a baseline, got rejected....so i saw 46 and i figured, ill try 50 and see; and yea, i can cough up 4 dollars. But since i'm a newbie on these bidding sites, ill do better research next time. :)
