vivigb Posted October 6, 2008 Report Posted October 6, 2008 Could anyone help me ID this hotel ????? HOTWIREfrom 12/14 to 12/203 star South Beach - Oceanfront Collins BoutiqueBeachfrontPoolRestaurantBusiness CenterGolf NearbyTennis NearbySpa servicesI don't know why but it doesn't have Tripadvisor rateThanks a lot
thereuare Posted October 7, 2008 Report Posted October 7, 2008 Welcome to BetterBidding!Unfortunately this property has not yet been identified and HOTWIRE doesn't give any additional clues to help in figuring this one out. I would be a bit cautious, however, of an unknown 3* hotel in this area as there are many independents in the area of varying quality. If this is the upper range of your budget you may want to also check out GTA Hotels which has a few South Beach hotels in this price range and you will know what you're getting before your purchase, enabling you to choose which one you want. vivigb Posted October 9, 2008 Author Report Posted October 9, 2008 Thanks for your answer...That is what I thought, could be a small, independant property.....and is so weird that it doesn't show any TA information. I was thinking in using Hotwire but I am going with my husband and baby girl (she's 1), and we would like an oceanfront with pool (although sometimes Miami can be a little bit cold on December). We can spend a bit more, but I don't want to spend so much. I know it would be difficult to get a 4* for less than $200. I used to go to Miami a lot, as a single, and have been in South beach many times in the Savoy, Marriott SoBe, The Raleigh and Delano tht is I think the area close to the last two, would be great for this stay better than the busy Ocean Drive. I was thinking in the palms but think it's a little far.......I found another hotel in Hotwire.3 1/2* South Beach/ Oceanfront CollinsBeachfrontFitness CenterPoolRestaurantHigh Speed internetTripAdvisor 3 out of 5 based on 340+ reviews...I believe is The Royal Palm, but I am a little bit worried about some of the reviews, have anyone been in this hotel????Regards
thereuare Posted October 9, 2008 Report Posted October 9, 2008 Can you doublecheck the number of TA reviews HOTWIRE shows for this property... i'm showing something different than the above (but the same amenities) for the hotel offered on my own search. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. vivigb Posted October 9, 2008 Author Report Posted October 9, 2008 You're right, I mixed up with other hotel that I think is the palms ($154 in Miami beach).......the correct info is 3/5 420+ reviews...
thereuare Posted October 9, 2008 Report Posted October 9, 2008 I agree that the best guess would be the Royal Palm.I stayed here about 5 years ago... hotel was what i expected from South Beach: trendy, small room, nice beach. We arrived late in the evening (took long time to get thru customs at the airport) and left early so can't comment too much other than that the location is considered to be a good one for South Beach, afaik. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. vivigb Posted October 11, 2008 Author Report Posted October 11, 2008 I haven't decided yet, I was thinking Should I wait a little bit???? Shouldn't we expect better prices from Hotwire??? I did some research and found some good deals in other pages for intance gta hotel has the richmond for $105 and loews for $221 (compare to other sites I think is a good price) I also found The palms for $107...
dahammer Posted October 11, 2008 Report Posted October 11, 2008 you should make a cancellable backup that would allow you the flexibility to monitor HOTWIRE prices.
vivigb Posted October 11, 2008 Author Report Posted October 11, 2008 That is a good option I will make a refundable reservation either in the palms for $107 (Hotwire currently showing $149) or Eden Roc (I don't know how is going the renovation, and it's 30 blocks awat from SoBe, but good deal) for $129 (no resort fee, booking directly with marriott elite members deals) and wait and see is something better comes out.
