Hi I was wondering if someone could help me out with this hotel for 3rd Jan 2009 to 6th of Jan 2009.

I see a 2* in Union Square West for those dates. The hotel hasn't been identified but I don't recommend mystery 2* hotels in Union Square West. It might be allright but there are some dives in USW where you just don't want to be.

For the same $69 HOTWIRE has a 3* in Civic Center South-Hayes Valley. That looks like the Whitcomb Hotel. The Whitcomb is a few blocks from Union Square but if that location works for you it will be a much better hotel for the same money.

There's more than one 3* hotel in Civic Center South-Hayes Valley and the offerings can change at any time. The one that I think is Whitcomb has five icons including "non-smoking".

For the 2*,I think I saw those icons displayed when I purchased a stay at the Layne Hotel. That would be a good guess.

It was adequate, but quite ordinary. Scratchy small towels, just pastries for breakfast, old elevator.
