IBAUCLAPlaya
Looking to get a 4* hotel in "Millennium Park, Loop & Grant Park" area, from 10/3/08 - 10/5/08 (two nights) for around $125 a night. Any suggestions??? Link to comment
GM Mike
Welcome to betterbidding! That's turning out to be a very difficult weekend, due to the Convenience Store Owners Convention. We ended up staying out by the airport which isn't TOO terrible. 45 minutes by train, 24 hours a day. See this Chicago Hilton Airport thread. There are at least two other users looking for the same dates. See this thread for more background. You should definitely consider adding the North Michigan Ave (NMA) zone. But even that probably won't help.Best bet is to find a refundable backup reservation somewhere and keep bidding - maybe the convention will have last minute cancellations? Also consider staying by the airport or otherwise outside of town. At some point it becomes cheaper to stay outside of town and pay for taxis. Link to comment
IBAUCLAPlaya
I just saw a guy get $85 for 4* in MP, Loop, Grant Park area for Friday 10/3. Can you help me with a bidding strategy to get two nights (10/3 - 10/5) for $125/night? Link to comment
thereuare
At the 4* level you have THREE re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.(NOTE: 're-bid zone1' is not the same as priceline's Zone1, 're-bid zone2' is not the same as priceline's Zone2, etc, etc)Select 4* Loop...Bid $85, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $95, if rejected close browser and use our link to re-access PRICELINESelect 4* Loop and re-bid zone2...Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $105, if rejected close browser and use our link to re-access PRICELINESelect 4* Loop and re-bid zone3...Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $115, if rejected close browser and use our link to re-access PRICELINESelect 4* Loop and re-bid zone2 and re-bid zone3...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $125Not sure of your chances of success given the rates for Saturday nite, but start with the above and we'll take it from there. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes. IBAUCLAPlaya
Just tried it and actually made my last bid $130 but no luck.Does anybody have input on the 3 star hotels in Chicago? If they are ok, is there a strategy you recommend in which I can get a 3* in the same area for $50/night? Link to comment
thereuare
is there a strategy you recommend in which I can get a 3* in the same area for $50/night?I don't think $50 is a realistic expectation. As per above, there is a convention in town during these dates which is filling up hotel rooms and therefore prices are high (supply vs. demand)Since you say you saw somebody win for the first nite of your stay have you considered SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID? Not sure it will help given your budget and current rates, but have you considered adding the NMA zone to your bidding? What is the best rate you're able to find thru conventional booking methods (use our BetterChecker to assist in your rate search... as well as Quickbook and GTA Hotels). Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.
