On Hotwire:

2*

Suite

No smoking

pool

business

laundry

high speed internet

kitchenette

I'm thinking this would be Townplace Suites. Has it changed from a 2.5* and added a couple amenities? Need a place within walking distance from Lakeside Mall so I would like to be pretty certain that it is Townplace. Thanks.

The one I'm referring to is Sterling Heights (I do believe though that the TownePlace Suites Sterling Heights and Utica are one in the same). I find this listing in the Hotwire hotels list above:

2.5* TownePlace Suites Sterling Heights

Suite, Pool, Kitchenette, Business, Laundry

but it differs a bit from the one I got on hotwire today which is:

2*

Suite

No smoking

pool

business

laundry

high speed internet

kitchenette

On the TownePlace Suites website it states it is nonsmoking and it also says there is a fitness room which is not listed on the hotwire listing. Do you think these could be the same hotel?

For some reason I was unable to edit my last post so this is the continuation.

The listing on HOTWIRE is for Utica, but I had put in Sterling Heights in the search. The only other hotel I can find in Utica that is a suite hotel is Holiday Inn Express and the amenities don't match with it either.

The TownePlace Suites Sterling Heights is in the Utica zone (as defined by HOTWIRE) and has the amenity combination abve so that would be our best guess.

Would it be frowned upon if I were to book the first night of a multiple night stay just to make sure it is the hotel I want and then book the remaining nights upon receipt that it is the one I want?

I don't know who you're questioning will 'frown' upon it, but showing up at the hotel with two separate, but continuous, reservations happens all the time and the hotel shouldn't have any problem with it (sometimes plans change and guests need to book additional nites before/after their original nites). We actually recommend this sometimes for extended stays where a user will purchase the first or last nite of a 7 nites stay in order to 'look behind the curtain' and then decide whether to book the remaining nites.

Do keep in mind that there is no guarantee that the hotel is sitll available when you go to make the second purchase or that it's 100% certain it's the same hotel... it would be rare with this amenity combination to be a different hotel, but just throwing it out there that it's possible.
