carinagh Posted September 13, 2008 Report Posted September 13, 2008 Hi was wondering if someone could give me a bit of help please. I'm traveling to nyc 25th-29th oct. Flying in to La Guardia and early out of JFK. Nyc looks a bit too expensive for me so am considering staying outside and using the subway. Have found a 2 star hotel near jfk on theses dates for $109 a night. Facilities are complimentary breakfast and internet. What hotel/s could this be?? If anyone has any idea what hotel this is or if u have any better ideas i would be very grateful of a reply. Thanks. Also I'm in the uk, are there any problems with transactions through hotwire for non us residents??? Thanks again.
dahammer Posted September 13, 2008 Report Posted September 13, 2008 Welcome! What is your itiniary during your stay? Also, what is your maximum budget per night as well as your minimum star rating that you will accept? Staying at JFK is not a good location for visiting the city.

We will be visiting some of the sites in the city. Not too fusy about star rating as long as it's clean and has good reviews. Not wanting to spend more than $120 a night. was looking at the clarion hotel jfk and was hoping that this one i found on hotwire was also clarion. Have read trip advisor reviews and a few people have said that the location is actually ok, and it only takes 30 mins to get into the city. I would be ok with this, prefer to have more money in my pocket.
dahammer Posted September 14, 2008 Report Posted September 14, 2008 Unfortunately, this hotel has not been identified, and with just these two amenities, this could be something like the Howard Johnson's. I read a few of the reviews for the Clarion in Jamaica, they are generally positive and the subway ride is 30 minutes into Times Square. The location is somewhat in between JFK and LaGuardia. It would be difficult to target this property with HOTWIRE or Priceline. If you proceed, please use the Clarion links on the board. Good Luck!
