I'm looking for a 3 or 4 * in Midtown or Central Park South for these two nights (9/14-16). I'd like to stay around $250 or less, if possible. Is this realistic? If not, what price is? What kind of bidding strategy should I use? Thanks for any and all help you can provide.

Welcome to BetterBidding!

Few question so that we can best advise...

Is your maximum bid $250 or is that "all-in"? Are you willing to pay more for a 4* vs. a 3* or is your goal the least expensive 3* or better hotel for this stay?

Is there a reason you're avoiding the Times Square and/or the Empire State Buidling zones at the 4* level, and these zones and the other common zones (Chelsea, MSG) zones at the 3* level?

Let us know the above and we'll be able to advise accordingly.

Not sure what "all-in" means. But your second option sounds right: the least expensive 3* or better for this stay.

I've centered on the zones only out of advice from friends. I prefer the West side as I'll need to be near the subway to get to Yankee Stadium. I've been advised that the connections are much easier in that area than in others. But I'm willing to learn.

Thanks!

Just some info, I just won a hotel room at the Crowne Plaza Times Square Manhattan from the same dates you are looking 9-14 to 9-16 for $220. I am flying in from chicago for the monday white sox game as well (I'm a Brewers fan heading there with a Sox fan and a Cubs fan).

Here is my win: Crowne Plaza Times Square
