RyanWeary Posted September 9, 2008 Report Posted September 9, 2008 Ladies and Gentlemen,I'm new to these forums and I believe I have a small grasp on what to do....First, I'm looking for at least a 4* hotel for Sept. 27 (1 night), 2008. It's my wedding night and we're flying out to Europe the next day, so something near the airport would be ideal. This is what I've found so far:Hotwire.com - Hotel Shuttle, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, Laundry Facilities, High Speed Internet AccessPriceline.com - Available to/from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport; 24 Hours Bar/Lounge Business Center Coffee Maker in Room Fitness Center or Spa Free Parking Hairdryers Available Handicapped Rooms/Facilities Laundry/Valet Services Meeting/Banquet Facilities Mini Bar Modem Lines in Room No Smoking Rooms/Facilities Parking Pets Allowed Pool Restaurant Room Service Television with Cable VIP Rooms/Services Hotwire lists this room at $69 per night, and I'm hoping that's the Westin at DFW Airport. Would someone be so kind as to help me out please? I know it's last minute so to speak for a hotel room on my wedding night.....but I'm hoping I'm in the right direction here.Any advise is gladly accepted.Thank you!
thereuare Posted September 10, 2008 Report Posted September 10, 2008 Welcome to BetterBidding! The above is a match for the Westin so that would be our best guess... but i'll add that for $69/nite and a 4.5/5.0 rating on TripAdivsor i wouldn't be too concerned about the quality fo this one. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. RyanWeary Posted September 10, 2008 Author Report Posted September 10, 2008 I appreciate the response! To be honest, quality is a concern of mine since it will be my wedding night :) When I travel for a regular vacation I don't mind something not jazzed up, but in this case I do. Views are not important really, but high quality is. All right then, I'll keep looking. If it's not too much to ask other members who may know hotels in either Dallas or the DFW airport area better than I do and can point me to a certain hotel that I might be able to achieve what I'm looking for while saving a couple of bucks would be great! Thanks again!
thereuare Posted September 10, 2008 Report Posted September 10, 2008 I'm not sure why you are going to continue to search...I do think this is likely the Westin, which is the hotel you are seeking.Whether the Westin or not, it has a 4.5/5.0 user review rating from TripAdvisor... how much better than that can you get? :)Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. RyanWeary Posted September 10, 2008 Author Report Posted September 10, 2008 I thought when you said "but i'll add that for $69/nite and a 4.5/5.0 rating on TripAdivsor i wouldn't be too concerned about the quality of this one." you meant that it probably isn't truly a 4*. My misunderstanding. I guess because I'm a rookie, expensive clearly means better......oh how fooled I am by marketing and sales. :)
thereuare Posted September 10, 2008 Report Posted September 10, 2008 To clarify i meant that a 4.5/5.0 Tripadvisor rating is excellent, and indicative that the majority of guests rate the hotel very highly... so it would seem to be an excellent hotel. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you decide to do and how it goes. RyanWeary Posted September 11, 2008 Author Report Posted September 11, 2008 Well all right, got my room at the Westin yesterday afternoon via bid on PRICELINE for a mere $65 AFTER taxes! I spoke with some of the "frequent travelers" here in the office and they all said it's a nice place to stay. I called the hotel staff this morning and spoke to them about the situation and they threw in a bottle of champagne and a box of chocolates. I couldn't have asked for anything else. Thanks for all the amazing help guys! I'll definately be back here to learn more for my next hotel! On a side note, I always used the links provided here for my bookings and lookings. :) -Ryan
