n2dwoods
Hi all, thanks to the other postings I've seen on this site, I had a successful bid in Ithaca, NY.I'll be staying there for two nights this Labor Day weekend, and many hotels are already full, but I know the area very well and would be happy just about anywhere. I had done a few unsuccessful bids for 3*, 2.5* and 2* hotels in both zones, in the $60 range, just to see (I'm sorry I don't remember exactly what I tried). Yesterday I tried $82 for a 3* in the Cornell area (I assumed this was the Holiday Inn) and was unsuccessful. Today I tried again at $90 and it worked. The total for two nights with taxes & fees is $213.60. On the Holiday Inn website, it is listed as $175/night. Now, just in case, I had a reservation at the EconoLodge near the airport, and with my AAA discount, that would have been $225. Hooray for Priceline!! Link to comment
