Priceline Hotel: Bidding Strategy Needed - NYC 9/12-9/13

Hi,

I'm looking for a bidding strategy for a room in NYC for one night - 9/12-9/13.

I'd prefer 4* and have had pretty good luck on priceline in the past getting them (not for NYC though, other cities).

Here are our preferred areas in order of preference:

Downtown-SoHo-Financial District

Empire State Building Area

Midtown East

Madison Square Garden-Convention Area

Midtown West

We'd also be willing to stay in NJ - Jersey City/Hoboken area (that would fall somewhere in the middle of the preferences).

I was thinking of starting at $130 and going up from there. We figured we have some time to try different bids so we'll start low.

Here's what I tried so far - will try again tomorrow with any suggestions. We'll go up to $170-175 at this point, then maybe we'll hold off and see if we get it as it gets closer.

what is the maximum bid for this stay? We wouldn't want to suggest a bidding strategy that is more than your maximum bid.

Few things before moving foward...

In your first post you mentioned MTW as an acceptable zone, but you didn't appear to bid it above, have you changed your mind in regards to this zone?

Are you aware that there are no 4* hotels currently offered in the MSG and Chelsea zones? Are you familiar with re-bidding? (see Priceline Re-Bidding Explained)
