mcagig Posted August 16, 2008 Report Posted August 16, 2008 Hi :) This is the first time I have not been able to figure out a hotel. Normally I would guess that it would be the Holiday Inn on Manchester, but the rate is too high and the ammenties are off. I tried doing a package on Hotwire for the dates, but none of the hotels offered matched the ammenities. Usually I use priceline, but I am trying to avoid the Holiday Inn. I have gone through all of the hotels and I am still scratching my head wondering which one this is. Could it be the Doubletree? My dates are: 10/5/08-10/11/08 (for two people)The rate is $92 The ammenities are: Fitness, Pool, Business, Laundry, InternetPlus, there is no tripadvisor rating. Thanks so much!
dahammer Posted August 17, 2008 Report Posted August 17, 2008 could this be the Hilton Garden Inn Anaheim Garden Grove? Please use this HOTWIRE link if you proceed with this trip.....can I ask how you were able to figure out the identity of hotels prior to posting this topic? We would sure like to see your winning PRICELINE bids and HOTWIRE wins as this information could be helpful to others looking for similar accomodations. Have the posts from other board members, which are added to the Priceline and Hotwire Calendar of Wins, helped you craft a winning bid?
thereuare Posted August 18, 2008 Report Posted August 18, 2008 The Hilton Garden Inn seems like a decent guess, but i wouldn't even go down that path...For your dates there is a 3.5* in the South zone (Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Golf, Tennis, Business) for less than the price you've quoted above and has a 4.0/5.0 Tripadvisor rating... a match for the Hyatt Regency which gets very good reviews. I would take this over any 'guess' for the lower 3* rated property above. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help.PS- as dahammer pionts out, it would be appreciated if you shared your PRICELINE and HOTWIRE wins with the board and use our links to begin your future travel purchases Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
mcagig Posted August 18, 2008 Author Report Posted August 18, 2008 Thanks for the replies! :)Hmmm....I did not even think about the Hilton Garden Inn because I did not see it on the lists and did not see anyone post a win for it. Perhaps I did not look closely enough. Good catch.I have only used HOTWIRE once, but I have used PRICELINE for every other stay over the last several years. I was just trying to avoid the Holiday Inn. I did notice the 3.5* and figured that it was the Hyatt. I am just trying to figure out if it worth the extra money, or if I should take my chances with Priceline where I can bid much less. If it were only one or two nights I would just get the Hyatt, but it is for five, perhaps six nights it would add up to quite a difference. The Holiday Inn is available and I know that it is probably a strong possibility I will get it if I use Priceline. I wanted to know what the three star was out of curiousity to see if the Holiday Inn was popping up on Hotwire, and it was driving me crazy that I could not figure out what hotel it was! The Holiday inn is going for around $79 for the first three days and $89 for the last two (weekend) days--rates were on Expedia, I think. Will the rate changes make a difference when using PRICELINE?Decisions decisions...oh, and of course I will use the PRICELINE or HOTWIRE link when I finally decide what to do! :)
thereuare Posted August 19, 2008 Report Posted August 19, 2008 I'm dont' think the $10 different per nite will make much of a difference in your PRICELINE bidding. (and if it does, is not worth the risk of having to change hotels by SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID)Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
