dahammer Posted August 11, 2008 Report Posted August 11, 2008 before we can help you with your new trip, please let us know what you did for your previous NYC Trip and post a conclusion to this thread. Also, is there any particular reason you want to stay in White Plains for a week? Are you planning to use this area as a base to travel into NYC?
chuzo Posted August 11, 2008 Author Report Posted August 11, 2008 Well I need to be around White Plains as my wife and I have several appointments with the dentist in Dobbs Ferry. Do you suggest any other place as accomodation for those dates? Thanks!
dahammer Posted August 12, 2008 Report Posted August 12, 2008 You have selected a fine location, and I didn't mean to pry....I though you might have selected White Plains as a lower cost alternative to the sky high hotel prices in Manhattan. If you have business in Dobbs Ferry though, you may want to be closer to Tarrytown to reduce your travel. The 3* appears to be the Crowne Plaza Downtown, White Plains. The 3.5* appears to be a match for the Doubletree Tarrytown, formerly the Hilton. This one's a tough call as I really like the location of the Doubletree. It is an older property from the 1950's or 1960's near the Hudson River that was closed and refurbished, the grounds and landscaping are very nice. But, I don't know if its worth an additional $50 per night, the Crowne Plaza is a nice property as well, but its in Downtown White Plains among office buildings and such.Good luck, and please use the HOTWIRE links on the board if you proceed.
chuzo Posted August 12, 2008 Author Report Posted August 12, 2008 Thanks!!! I finally took the 3 star hotel, and it was the Crowne Plaza! Thanks again!
