needsomehelp Posted August 11, 2008 Report Posted August 11, 2008 hi i was looking for a hotel in midtown central (4*) and this price seems great (from hotwire) but i'm not too sure which hotel it may be. read some previous posts and hopefully it's not the algonquin?? i'm hoping it's the sofitel??listed amenities: fitness center, internet access and restaurants.tripadvisor rated it 3.5 out of 5 for travel rating. this would be for 2 adults (but we have one child under 3yrs old, but we didn't list him as we didn't get as many hits on hotwire) do you know if this would be a problem at the hotel??dates required: august 24th to august 31stplease help!!thx
dahammer Posted August 11, 2008 Report Posted August 11, 2008 I did a HOTWIRE Packages search and it looks like these amenities are a match for the Algonquin Hotel. I'd rather wait for Thereuare to comment about accomodations for your child when selecting 2 adults. Your stay is an entire week, would you be willing to split your bid into two stays and consider bidding on PRICELINE?
AaronJB Posted August 11, 2008 Report Posted August 11, 2008 If the Hotwire listing in question is in fact the Algonquin, that hotel is $284 via Quikbook.com for these dates.

dahammer Posted August 11, 2008 Report Posted August 11, 2008 sure, here is a post that describes Splitting your bid. This is a way for you to possibly reduce your hotel costs, but it may require moving to a new hotel. Having said this, you may not want to do this with a 3 year old. I would also read Frequently Asked Questions as well. When bidding on a PRICELINE room, you are guaranteed sleeping accomodations for 2, and since rooms are notoriously small in NYC, this may not be advisable. I believe board moderator Thereuare will want to address this issue.
