Priceline Hotel: Don Ceasr St Pete 8/31/08

August 31, 2008 will be my wife and my 40th anniversary. She has always wanted to stay at the Don Cesar Hotel in St. Petersburg, Florida. I can't afford a thousand dollars for 2-3 days. Would like to stay that night and the night before or after, or both.

Can any one help?

I'm a Newby to this board, but it is awesome.

With PRICELINE you can't bid on a specific hotel... you have to to be willing to accept any hotel in the zone at the minimum star rating you are willing to accept. Are you willing to accept any 4* hotel in the zone or only the Ceon Caesar?

If you're not willing to take a shot on any 4* hotel you can try searching HOTWIRE and seeing if a hotel which matches what has previously been seen to be associated with the Don Cesar (as per THIS POST appears for your dates and within your budget.

This is another good thread if you're not familiar with each of the opaque services: I've Never Used Priceline or Hotwire.

We just stayed the weekend at The Don, there were 5 couples total, we all got our rooms for $120 through Priceline. The Don is a great place, best of luck!

I believe I started looking the middle of July for Friday 8/8 ,started at $120 and it was accepted at that price. I was then offered a second night at the same rate, so we ended up staying Saturday night also. Great decision, The Don is a beautiful place! Encouraged 4 other couples to do the same and they all got in for $120. The FL resident rate on the Don's web site start at $237.
