OlgaLA Posted July 16, 2008 Report Posted July 16, 2008 Hi I am a Newbie learning the ropes here for HOTWIRE and PRICELINEI think it might be Le Meridian or Omni?HW Dates 8/5-8/9$159 4.5* Embarcadero (4.5 Travel Advisor)AmenitiesRestaurantFitnessHi-Speed InternetBusiness Center
Colfax Posted July 17, 2008 Report Posted July 17, 2008 Welcome to BetterBidding, OlgaLA.I'll vote for Le Meridien. The Omni has the same icon set as Le Meridien but checking Hotwire vacation packages for your dates Le Meridien is 4.5* and the Omni is 4*.If you purchase please use this HOTWIRE link and let us know what hotel you got.
thereuare Posted July 17, 2008 Report Posted July 17, 2008 I'll suggest the Le Meridien as my best guess as well. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. OlgaLA Posted July 30, 2008 Author Report Posted July 30, 2008 Hi Everyone,Can I just say I LOVE LOVE LOVE this board...Over the last month I have been a HOTWIRE / PRICELINE virgin planning a trip to SF next week. I have plotting and relooking and bidding etc and all I can say is tonight is finally paid off..I even tried PRICELINE and every bid was denied (went up to 130) and I had tried to split the trip too!..I was almost losing hope that I would find something under 150 for my stay....including those expensive taxes. I have heard that August is way tourist and hotels are booked...pretty much everything not in a shady area was 200+I had been checking HW every or every other day....I was really bummed that I missed a 129 Intercontinental a couple weeks back but I was new and the reviews where uneven for the property.... I was honestly scared I wasn't going to be able to go between gas and a room...Well tonight I put in my dates and low and behold I see...139 Embarcadero 4**** (something cheap that wasn't CLUB QUARTERS!!!)InternetBusiness CenterGymRestaurantBecause of THIS site I knew it was most likely the Hilton FD, Omni or the Hyatt E (I guessed Hyatt because that is the cheapest one of the three! and I was correct). KUDOS!!! I am sure someone will have found it cheaper on PL but I am happy. I feel like this is a pretty good rate for the E area during the week!I stayed there for a conference in January at 200/night conference rate and the rates for this trip on various websites were running 215-230 ( with a 25 room credit ). They are was snobbier then the awesomely sweet folk at Parc 55 but I know it is a safe/solid location ( female traveling alone)..Now all I have to do is pray I don't get a smoking room! So with taxes I am paying about 160ish but I am happy! Never Leaving my Love for BetterBidding in SF...O
