Hi all,

I have been bidding for a hotel in both the Quincy Mkt zone and the Copley square zone for 4 days now, bidding all my free rebids to go as high as $125.00. Given the dates, could my problem be that I am bidding too low. Could it be the # of days? Should 5 bid higher; should I break up the bid into two bids? Any help appreciated.

Unfortunately, this appears to be a busy time in Boston, as regular rates for 3/4* hotels in the city are going for around $250-300+. The cheapest HOTWIRE property is $246.

What is your max budget for these dates?

Thanks for your response. I would guess a maximum, ideally, would be $180.00 per night, though I certainly would prefer not to go that high. I do realize that rates are high. Appreciate any help. Again, would splitting the bid do any good?

Thank you

Splitting may help... but i think you'll still have to bid higher than you have been and likely closer to your maximum bid amount. Even still, the last nite will likely cost you $$$.

Would you prefer to try for your complete stay up to $180 or would you prefer to try for a lower price for at least a few nites of your stay but have to change hotels?

When was your last rejeted bid? Did you use all your re-bid zones at that time?

Let us know and we'll suggest how to move forward.

My last rejected bid was $125.00 yesterday a.m. I did use all my free rebids as well as the two zones that I want to stay in. I would prefer bidding as high as $180.00 to keep the stay at onme hotel, but if that will not work, I am prepared to split the bid.

Thanks for the help

I bid the Copley zone for 4 days, then the Quincy Market zone for all 4 days, bidding as high as $195.00...no takers. Then I bid both zones for the 22-24th, using all free rebids up to $195.00..again with no luck. I finally decided to bid Cambridge, as that is where part of our business will take place...4* to $170.00; no luck. I then bid 22nd to 24th, 2 1/2 * in Cambridge hoping to win the Holiday Inn Express and Suites (good reviews)..I won that hotel for two daysa at $110.00 a day.

Today I will try for something in Boston for the remaining two days. If it does not work, I will try to add two nights at the Holiday Inn in Cambridge...not ideal, but these dates are almost impossible. Does anyone know why the hotels are mostly sold out? Red sox vs Yankees could be one reason, but I do not think that would cause this much of a shortage.

I doubt that the Boston/Yankee game is soley responsible for the demand. There is a 10K person conference which i think is pretty good sized for Boston, and this, in addition to the baseball game, and anything else that may be taking place at this time, is a likely factor.

Thanks for the post and for helping us add this property to the Priceline Hotel List.
