Priceline Hotel: 115 failed for San Diego Downtown and Pt. Loma

Just bid 115 for Downtown San Diego and Point Loma and it failed. I was wondering how much should I bump it up. And do I have to wait until tomorrow or the next day to do it? I think I've read some where on this forum or some other place their is a way to get around this but I don't know, maybe it was a dream I had.. :)

I am having no luck whatsoever on priceline. Here is the current situation. I'll go from my first bid down of the day down to the last for the day.

1) 115 for 4* San Diego Downtown for 7/23/08 to 7/28/08 Failed

2) 120 for 4* San Diego Downtown and Point Loma for 7/23/08 to 7/28/08 Failed

3) 120 for 4* San Diego Downtown and Point Loma and Chula Vista from 7/23/08 to 7/28/08 Failed

And here is the real kick in the gut.

4) 120 for 4* AND 3* San Diego Downtown and Point Loma and Chula Vista from 7/23/08 to 7/28/08 FAILED.

I'm trying to support your great forum and get a deal but nothing is working. Any tips. I am depressed... :)

What do I do now? Wait 24 hours and bump up the price to 130? I'm worried. I've got to be in town to start a new job...

With Comic Con in town, I think you are going to be seriously hard pressed to find a hotel room during this period at a reduced rate on PRICELINE. I think you're best going on to HOTWIRE and taking what you can get on there.

Just my luck. A nerd convention the week I'm try to start a new job. Hotwire has got 2 stars going for like 150 w/tax around the stadium. I got the same hotel w/tax in April for 45 bucks. I'm pissed. :)

And here is the real kick in the gut.

Your last three bids were effectively the same thing....$120 for 4* Downtown. Adding additional zones doesn't do anything unless you also raise your bid at the same time.

Your travel dates, unfortunately, are exactly the same dates as ComicCon.

Where is this new job? Maybe we can suggest some alternative zones that would be within reasonable commute.

(edited to add: I didn't notice at first that your final bid also included 3* Downtown...so it was only Bid #2 and Bid #3 that were effectively duplicates.)
