Colfax Posted July 27, 2008 Report Posted July 27, 2008 This used to be the Downtown Days Inn. Not often does a Days Inn become a 4* hotel. If you see this, teresaa, how was it?
slick_vick Posted July 31, 2008 Report Posted July 31, 2008 Hmmm, there is no pool or restaurant at Hotel Modera according to their website (they do list a Business Center and Free Wifi). I'm thinking that Modera might be the 'mystery' 4* that is currently listed with no amenities or TripAdvisor reviews for $129 (Stay dates 8/30-8/31).
slruud Posted July 31, 2008 Report Posted July 31, 2008 I've been watching this one too. I currently have the Marriott City Center for $139/nite with $25 Visa gift card bonus at checkout. The Westin is going for $149 on a sale going through the next few days...regular price $189/nite.I've tried bidding up to $105 on PRICELINE for a 4* for the past month with no success for August 28-30. Hoping too see the Marriott at $75 on HOTWIRE like I got the last time the Marriott was $139. A little wishful thinking perhaps.
slick_vick Posted July 31, 2008 Report Posted July 31, 2008 I also noticed that a standard King room at Modera is $139. Not much of a discount if you pay $129 through Hotwire! I'm dying to know what this mystery 4* is! I was *thisclose* to purchasing it but I decided to bid on PRICELINE first with a similar amount and got hooked up at the Govenor for $131. Seems like slim pickings on HOTWIRE now, though makes sense with Labor Day travel and all. Good luck with your search!
jeff1w Posted September 24, 2008 Report Posted September 24, 2008 Is the Hotel Modera the HOTWIRE listed 4*, boutique?

tex winter Posted September 27, 2008 Report Posted September 27, 2008 This used to be the Downtown Days Inn. Not often does a Days Inn become a 4* hotel. If you see this, teresaa, how was it?Here is an article on the renovation:Hotel ModeraI think it would be a nice place to stay if you were attending a show at the Keller (Civic) Auditorium.
Colfax Posted October 1, 2008 Report Posted October 1, 2008 Thanks for posting that article, tex winter.
